About the discussion about hate/love: the idea is that the Uchiha have a inherent deeper love than anyone else, losing the object of that love or going through emotional trauma turns it into hate and releases the different chakra that creates the Sharingan. Remember that Sasuke progresses his Sharingan in the fight vs Naruto on the OG series by realizing that he finally acknowledges Naruto's pain and solitude and Sasuke related, bringing back his own trauma.

Tobirama did not deliberately undermine the uchiha nor was he racist. The uchiha did indeed have character issues and before any retard retorts abt him "misguidedly" applying the few to the many should remember that he had shiui grandfather kagami has an subordinate and deeply respected him. Tobirama was more pragmatic than his brothers and recognize that the uchiha should focus their pwrs and time on fighting crime so that their curse wouldn't lead them astray. If cracking down on crime cause the uchiha to be distrusted then that was a consequence of their job instead of any racial bigotry if you had put a different clan in the same occupation the result would be the same. According to Tobirama , it is the Uchiha brain that is special and enables the Sharingan , not the eye . So it doesn't make much sense how anyone who isn't from that clan can have one.

Tobimara placed the village prison next to the Uchiha compound effectively isolating them away from society. Danzo would eventually alienate them even further by having this compound moved to the outskirts of the village and finish what Tobirama started. Tobimara removed the Uchiha's seat from the Konoha council and did not recognize the authority of the Clan's head in any official government position on the basis that they cannot be trusted with the future of the village due to their clan's genetics. The definition of racism is "prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism by an individual, community, or institution against a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized." Ergo Tobirama is objectively a racist. Don’t confuse the 2 terms the way a certain German Moustache man once did.

chris's explanation of why the Uchiha are the police force is a bad bad one. Orochimaru said that people will naturally hate police because police are normally the ones that have to do the leg work of of maintaining order in society. From stopping random people under suspition of commiting a crime, to sometimes abusing their authority, people will start to resent police. Making the Uchiha police will ensure that they will be hated by people in the village.

5:14 is so wrong. Hiruzen never ordered the annihilation of the Uchiha clan. He tried to devise a peaceful solution before *considering* attacking them. Danzo, and probably the two elders, went behind Hiruzen's back manipulating Itachi's into annihilating all of the Uchiha.
