Before Madara lets be real. There's no other threat that was more terrifying than Itachi. We had Orichimaru crazy jutsu's. We had pein and the gang, but like... Itachi was something no one couldn't emulate. Not only that, Itachi was only used for a set up FOR shippuden. Yet at the time, he felt like the final bosses of all final bosses. I get the same vibes when I hear this theme.

Pioxys As much as Itachi was more powerful than Orochimaru, I actually found Orochimaru a lot more terrifying. Orochimaru’s ominous presence and maybe Steve Blum’s most sinister and creepiest voice, and his twisted methods, Orochimaru was always terrifying, even while in unbearable pain, even when his arms were crippled. For someone to have that much of an ominous presence, and superb way of presenting how evil he is, even while enduring intense pain, that’s pretty damn incredible in my book. I did find Itachi did have his moments, like with whenever he used Tsukuyomi, or when he acted crazy around Sasuke in episode 136 of Shippūden, I always found in terms of evilness and how much one can present themselves and show on a psychopathic madman level, Orochimaru was the scariest.

i legit preferred evil itachi, there was just something about the lack of trying when he took down kakashi that really put me on the edge of my seat. Then the black flames to escape Jiriya that no one knew about. the man was set as the biggest mystery and threat when he treated both sharigan users like children. which was something not even orochimaru could do so easily

Itachi ALWAYS felt like he was holding back. He felt like he could kill everyone around him in one move and he simply chose not to, for whatever reason. This guy made Kakashi shit his pants the moment they saw each other. How do you not find this guy terrifying?

There's something appealing about the old and mysterious Itachi. His moveset was badass, and while it's still cool in later games it just ain't the same. Gotta remember the good old days when his explosive clones and his mangekyou was secret.

@@ayusoraua570 Nah, as much as evil Itachi would have been cool and I would have been interested to see the direction the story took if Kishimoto had decided to keep him as a villain. I think Itachi being good all along was a very good plot twist that tied more into the overall themes and messages of the show as well as giving more nuance and depth to his character as a whole imo.

​@@ayusoraua570 He was never evil, there was no retcon, Itachi has always been on the Leaf's and Sasuke's side, but darker forces were at work and Itachi did what he had to do to keep them at bay.. he had to put on the evil act, to protect those who could not deal with the real evil individuals.

Itachi's amaterasu looked the absolute best in this game. It wasn't just black fire that never went out, it felt like it destroyed your soul and reduced you to nothing. It felt so otherworldly

I remember i went to a church where the kids where playing this game and they had this guy that used itachi so good, and no one had beaten him and stuff and there i was thinking i was already done with this game. I remembered how strong itachi was in the story. Just gonna say all that training i had fighting that boss made me win against this unbeatable guy then i became kinda famous in that church for being the only one to actually won agains the guy. He was strong as heeeell, we where kind of even but at the las round he and i had the same health and he had that slowing down red zone (itachi's tsukiyomi) so he felt confident to dash at me thats when i used a multiple shuriken item and won. Best time i ever had, now turned to great memories. What made it more funny is that i mained sasuke back then...
