18:36 That sword is called "Kusanagi no Tsurugi" which is in translates "Grass-Cutting Sword" not "my snake sword". It is actual legendary Japanese sword and one of three Imperial Regalia of Japan. It was originally called Ame-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi ("Heavenly Sword of Gathering Clouds"), but its name was later changed. Anyone interested can read more about legends and folklore about the sword and the rest of regalia in the Wiki. Maybe half of the Naruto, names and styles are coming from Japan mythology. For example "Yamata no Orochi" or simply Orochi, is a legendary eight-headed and eight-tailed Japanese dragon/serpent; Orochimaru and his signature jutsu also here presented as a serpent. And I think that contributes to success of the series; at least for me as a curious reader; when you read more into the culture, names, meanings, you get so many "AHA!" moments.

I would describe the nine tails cloak at this point like plasma, or corrosive acid - even Naruto its host can only resist it to a certain point. everything else seems to be destroyed. Later on we see its nature change.

I feel like his reactions to orochimaru are just because his powers aren't really explained very well in the show itself, and so kind of seem to come out out nowhere, while luffys whole premise is explained as stretching himself

This Orochimaru is significantly nerfed. His arms still lack souls, which means he can't effectively knead chakra (which requires spiritual energy) with his hands and use hand signs. Also, his host body is rejecting him as it's too weak to contain him. Still, he was able to push 4-tailed Naruto away and was even confident he could kill Sasori (his original objective). Not bad for a weakened antagonist.

If you ever doubt which of the Sannin is the strongest, remember how Jiraya nearly died from fighting 4 tailed Naruto, but Orochimaru f*cked around the whole time and when he realized that he was in fact dangerous he ended the fight immediately. True, you can argue that Jiraya held back of course, but Orochimaru is also handicapped. His arms are still sealed away, notice how he fought; with variations of summoning techniques and body manipulation, nothing that required hand seals. All the while in a body that was rejecting him.

This is ignorant . Jiraya wasn’t trying to fight Naruto he was trying to turn him back into normal . orochimaru was actually trying to fight/test Naruto . We’ve learned from time and time again that they’re equal and a deadlock . And that’s not how you decide “who’s stronger” Naruto isn’t like DBZ . Orochimaru was trapped by you know who in secs because of his weakness yet jiraya had that person running and using Amaterasu to escape so the same way you used this to say orochimaru is stronger I can do the same thing for jiraya … BUT THAT’S NOT HOW NARUTO WORKS .

@@JamestownJah I mentioned that Jiraya was holding back against Naruto. They were definitely fighting; he says it happened during training. He also had the key to his seal, so he could lock it up anytime he wanted, meaning in the time it took him to realize Naruto no longer controlled himself and restored the seal he nearly got killed. Orochimaru not once is taken by surprise, he studies Naruto carefully, only takes hits he knows won't be problem for him, and when he had enough he got serious and threw him at Yamato knowing he would seal him up. By all criteria shinobi's strength and skill is measured (observation, tactics, techniques, and so on), he does much better than Jiraya, all while severely weakened; and that's without bringing up the you know what skill.

He absolutely wouldn't want to kill or even seriously injure Jiraiya, while he had every reason to erase someone like Orochimaru. KN4 cannot be used as a point of reference for the same reason. As for the idea that they're equal, nothing in the canon material conclusively states or even implies that. This notion stems only from an interpretation of the snake-frog-slug triad in Japanese folklore. Since we've never seen Orochimaru and Jiraiya fight each other at full power and there are no recent statements comparing them, we have no point of reference in the story itself except feats. Orochimaru's Edo Tensei could give him distinct advantages, depending on the souls and DNA available to him. He doesn't even have to be in the battlefield. He could fight remotely (like Nagato) if he wanted to. And if he has a teleporter (like Tobirama) with infinite chakra, then Jiraiya would never be able to reach him. Even in a direct confrontation, Jiraiya's only game-changing advantage would be Ma and Pa's genjutsu, which takes forever to prepare. At any rate, I'd say Part 1 Orochimaru is slightly superior, and war-arc Orochimaru is significantly superior.

Just because the first hokage had a particular talent for controlling and sealing tailed beasts doesn't mean he and Yamato are the only ones who can do it, there are other pwerful sealing jutsu that can be used to keep tailed beasts in check, the jutsu the fourth hokage used is also one of the strongest sealing jutsus in the series

Pretty much everything in the Naruto universe leans heavily into Japanese Mythology and Shinto. Especially the Uchiha techniques, for example we have seen Amaterasu the flames these are named after the Japanese Sun Kami born from the tears of her fathers left Eye. The 3 sages are also legendary beings. I think the long power up and the lack of doing thinks could come down t o either Naruto fighting for control on some level or the beast side only reacting to direct stimuli also the original audience demographic would probably seen this as a suspense tension builder especially with The flash back stuff (which you need to remember this was watched weekly and you may not own it on DVD etc. at the time).

One piece pacing is different but Naruto's pacing is so bad and weird? Then how come i never felt any of this for naruto but one piece. I know in every one piece episode something more happens or every time some new characters appear. Story goes on. But why do i still felt that it has the bad pacing and so many uninteresting episodes unlike naruto. Maybe i was so into naruto storyline, plot and characters that i didn't feel any of this issues when i first watched it, even the constant flashbacks didn't bother me at all. 😂 just continued to watch 25 to 35 episodes per day including fillers. But i can't watch any of one piece episodes more than 3 for a day 😅. So this is what it feels like to feel big three in our own ways... I guess u can't feel both in the same way. (i still haven't watched bleach). Does anyone felt like this? Like me?

What? One piece's pacing is hundreds time worse than Naruto. I admit even I hate that stupid bridge because how long the pacing is but it become better in kakuzu arc. The problem with Naruto is not mainly there pacing but their constant filler that appear out of place. If you watch it now it's not a problem or if you watch it on tv back then that was nothing because we aren't familiar to fillers after all.

Same, i can watch naruto's filler even when i rewacth the entire series for the second time. I'm so invested for the plot, even for their daily life, silly momens and funny missions. And i feel like i can't stand one piece pace, its like the worst pace ever from all of anime i ever watched :) bleach have slow pace too but i kinda feel like bleach is the same with naruto. You would’ve gotten more views on this series if you did dub. Nobody watches the entire video with their eyes glued to the screen, sometimes it’s nice to do something and listen to your video in the background. Given that it’s all Japanese, nobody can do that anymore. Not a single person. So for that reason I literally skip watching most of these videos because I know I have to stay watching it the whole time or I’m not gonna know what’s happening.
