I think they pulled this off better than the anime. Everyone spiritually helping Naruto make his last Rasengan was alright, but the extra added supporting cast for each character here was amazing. How Sasuke moves past them to show that these are all the bonds he's severed and left behind in his path to get stronger, while Naruto has an entire army of friends and family watching his back because of the bonds he's made ... so good.

For example, I've loved Jujutsu Kaisen, One Piece, Monster, Ping Pong the Animation, the Fate series, Tanaka-kun is Always Listless, Usagi Drop (not the manga god not the manga), and many more. I'm not one to make massive generalizations without acknowledging the exceptions, but I stand by the fact that a lot of anime is either a soullessly churned out mess (most Isekai and Harem shows that recycle the same plot), borderline pedophilic (like Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid or the Monogatari Series), or so over-melodramatic that they fail to deliver a functional story (like Anohana or Toradora). It's just things that I can't bring myself to like about the medium.

It's like rewatching the series but the pacing and flow of the story telling is so perfect, better than anime. The flashbacks between fights are so damn well done. Personally I like how the final clash started in the game better than the anime. It shows Naruto's growth, that he no longer needed a shadow clone to make a rasengan. Pain won, if you notice, Sasuke says mid-battle that the more connections he has the more he hurts, and his connection with Naruto hurts the most. Then at the end he's finally willing to hear what Naruto means when he says he's a friend. And then he says that he hurts when he suffers, then something clicks on Sasuke's mind. And in the epilogue he says they always used to quarrel and now can feel the pain in each heart. So in the end Pain won, he was right, although perhaps his tyrannical reign wasn't the method to bring his answer to light.
