I have a doubt mam , In this poem we study that rakshabandhan and naryal Purnima are on the same day and in P. sheshadri ' s poem rakshabandhan we have studied that rakshabandhan signifies the welcoming bath of rain and naryal Purnima signifies the end of rain ! Which info is correct? Please explain.

Raksha Bandhan and Nariyal Purnima are both celebrated on Shravan Purnima, which falls toward the end of the monsoon season but not completely after it. The monsoon typically lasts from June to September, and by the time of Shravan Purnima (usually in August), the intensity of rainfall starts decreasing, though it hasn’t fully ended. In P. Sheshadri’s poem "Rakshabandhan", the festival is described as signifying the "welcoming bath of rain", which highlights the presence of the monsoon during Shravan. However, Nariyal Purnima is associated with the end of rough monsoon seas, as fishermen offer coconuts to the sea god and prepare to resume sailing. So, both interpretations are correct in different contexts: Raksha Bandhan is celebrated widely in North India and coincides with the monsoon period. Nariyal Purnima, mainly observed in coastal regions, signifies the gradual retreat of monsoon rains and safer sailing conditions. This dual significance arises because poetry often captures symbolic meanings rather than strict meteorological timelines.
