Makes me think that they live in the underground. Conscious of the world around them. Spending their time rappin, hustlin, drinkin and smokin. This photo looks like they recently came up from the underground and are looking at the world. Society and how people live. Looks like they plottin something. Up to no good. Surviving in the ghetto. Remaining in the shadows..

Personal opinion, but I feel as if Nas, especially early Nas, is the greatest MC to ever touch the mic. I love BIG, Big L, Mobb Deep, Scarface, Masta Ace, all of em. Nas just gives me that raw emotion in almost every song. I find myself breaking down his lyrics as if studying poems. Like an onion going deeper layer by layer and becoming more fascinated with each new thought learned. Truly beautiful.

Haters in hip hop media have been hating Nas for outshining/outrapping their favorites when it comes to rap, so they have routinely tried to downplay and outright ignore his greatness for years. Listening to this song gives me chills because it reminds me of what Hip Hop and lyricism sounded like before southern influence(excluding the likes of Jay Electronica, Ludacris, Big Krit and so on) my only question is what 56 people on God's Green Earth with two working ears could listen to this song in it's entirety and then fix their finger to click the dislike button. the first verse is so much more powerful than verbal intercourse's. with this beat behind it, you just feel every word from it. the sample is right, the soul is there, the chorus is catchy, and the atmosphere is perfect for what nas has to say. i wish he would have followed through and release a mastered version of this (along with an instrumental) rather than waste it for only a featured verse. but i'm fine with this version though. haha.

PREACH MY BROTHA. I Love Biggie. Love Big to death, but Nas was better. Pac was overrated (he was GOOD but definitely overrated lyrically). Jay-Z wasn't even relevant when rap was really rap. Only one would can see Nas even in his prime would be Eminem. Eminem's talent is unreal even when he freestyles.

Your got damn right. There's no way anything could top this. This is the pinnacle of hip hop, and on another tier than anything else anybody else really ever put out. Demo Tape, Illmatic, It Was Written, Paid in Full, Low End Theory, Enter the 36 Chambers, KRS-1, and all NaS unreleased shit is pinnacle

[Verse 1: Nas] Through the lights, cameras, and action, glamour, glitters, and gold I unfold the scroll, plant seeds to stampede the globe When I'm deceased, by then the beast arise like yeast To conquer peace leaving savages to roam in the streets Live on the run, police paying me to give in my gun Trick my wisdom, with the system that imprisoned my son Smoke a gold leaf, I hold heat, nonchalantly I'm raunchy, but things I do is real it never haunts me While, funny style niggas roll in the pile Rooster heads profile on a bus to Rikers Isle Holdin’ weed inside they pussy with they minds on the Pretty things in life, gettin props is a true thug's wife It's like a cycle, niggas come home, some'll go in Do a bullet, come back and do the same shit again From the womb to the tomb, I presume the unpredictable Guns salute life, rapidly, that's the ritual [Hook] x4 Here's a toast to my foes, trees, & women (Déjà Vu) It's Like A Whole New Beginning... [Verse 2: Nas] Blunts, thugs and alcohol, what a mixture Just picture, ya life as a whole judged in court they convict ya They telling you your state of mind, like you worthless So he curses, his mom saying Bible verses That's all she works with But miracles never leave the churches Instead, it hits the pockets of the Preacher just to purchase A house, with a swimming pool, labels me a sinning fool I'm just a nigga who inherited a winning jewel To be a trendsetter, whenever subject to respect This and all respect through is the essential To street life, hustlin’ the struggle-broke ghettos Boiling coke settles, slow inside a glass kettle There's a Lee V on my T.V Lifestyles of living easy Got my crew tense, plottin’ to jips, to get whips with BBS Pushing cakes, knew anorexics with ten plates Celebrating elevation in the seeds that we make So How You Like That? [Hook] [Verse 3: Nas] Escobar life, gems and raw Tims Gators for pretty boy haters In Vegas with chicks trickin’ fortunes I'm glistening, bells of cops whistling Still I'm drifting in a high, blunts is like insulin 95-I, I drive high zoning Stash box zoning my trunk, I flash not, teeth golden Look at me now Ma Blowin’ but for how far? Cars, Cash, and Bitches got me out more And things you never dreamed I can vouch for Snake niggas, slither on the A-alikes I ain't a Christian, but I find that we pray alike Never the one to ask for the time to a saint A mask and Nine, I think, will make my problems sink Down a canal, similar to how we drink Distinct diamond-flooded Sphinx shines on my links Drug money, snortin’ bitches, in the end of times Got my nine, till I flatline, nigga give me mine Déjà vu x4
