They're not on the same playing field lyrically, artistically, scheme-wise, etc. It's not even close. The problem with Vlad is that he convolutes the two instead of realizing that sales/cross-over ability and raw lyrics and wordplay are two completely different things. In my book, Drake isn't even top 50 all time, but I do enjoy his music and think it's catchy.

After years of listening to music, I've come to the realization that Nas is the best MC of all time. He took what Rakim did and perfectioned it. Nas discography might have some inosistencies, but as a hip hop artist, he is the Led Zeppelin of hip hop.

@4:30 Salaam just kills Vlads perception of self importance in the conversation of rap or even Nas' beat picking and then reminds Vlad that the music is based on inspiration and artistry, not just d-riding the wave or going with what the audience thinks they want. True artistry. Nas is top 5 even with bad beat picking. THats like one of the best basketball players still being in the hall of fame without winning multiple rings or being on dominant teams. Makes that individual more special in ways.

It's not about being a good 'beat picker' especially at that time. The lyrics were meant to outshine the beats and that's what Nas was always capable of doing. Giving us jewels regardless of how flashy the beat was. Now Nas is so raw with it, we can get classic Nas over dope beats. That to me is what makes Nas GREAT!!!

yall buggin, nas isn't no bad beat picker, he's just not the type to pick the same beats that every other artist would. not every album is going to be a classic, and that's for every artist so if illmatic is classic but god son isn't, then nas picking the beats is the reason why? c'mon on now, this notion that if nas lets ross pick out his beats for his next album that its gonna be classic is ridiculous. ross is not even a lyricist, he just has good bump music. and if nas has to resort to letting ross pick his beats out then he should give up music altogether.

Vlad "Nas has the worst beat selection". Vlad in another video "Emenim is the G.o.a.t". This cat Vlad has an agenda to shit on Nas any chance he gets to Make Em (The White Hope) the greatest in the game. I think everybody low-key knows Nas is the illest to do it, so they try to find something to knock. If you really compare Nas's body of work to any solo artist in hip-hop history, there's really no comparison!!! Esco has 4-5 classic albums, while Em has so many plastic singles and really 1 classic album imo, but nobody ever brings this up? They overlooked those like James Brown with Elvis until MJ came along. Now I guess they're starting with the true goat Nas in hip-hop. Watch closely!!

Fairplay Terrific - Appreciated, I believe his classic LP's are Illmatic, It was written, Stillmatic, God's son and you throw in Lost Tapes. And all the other albums are dope (except Nastrodamas by Nas Standards). This dude Vlad is the reason why I believe in conspiracies lmao. Like let's line up Emenim's albums to Esco's. It's really not a comparison artistically. And I'm not saying Emenim is wack, but that's just how good Nas is.

I'd say even Nastradamus was classic, but people hate on it bc of what losers used to say back in the day regarding the the 2 singles. 2 iffy singles can't ruin an entire album. I've concluded over the years that most heads that shit on Nastradamus have never even heard it in it's entirety. It's pointless arguing with nincompoops like that!! And agent Vlad is one of those numskulls, who just wikipedias all of his hip-hop research half-listens to legends to find the songs with their most turnt-up beats (which likely generated the most revenue), and bases his opinions on the numbers. This guy knows nothing about hip-hop. 😒
