I think it has more to do with the cult novelty that the cult of youth. Nas is good but he still sounds like Nas, 30yrs later, so while for us it has a lot of nostalgia value added to the fact that it's objectively good, it lacks the novelty polish. Like brand new cars selling better than older car of higher quality

@liluhaas3 жыл бұрын
@@KZbin_is_Trash I hear what ur saying but do you have examples artists his age who you would consider novelty? Jay-Z still sounds like Jay-Z but he's one of the best in the game. I feel like Nas flow on this is innovative and has grown similar to J-Cole on his most recent songs. Even though sometimes the sound can be redundant - there are a few songs that you can see are refined + have a more unique/innovative quality about it even if the entire project isn't 'novelty'. I don't listen to many new Nas songs because I don't feel like he always pushes his own limits creatively but I think this song reflects that he is able to. I do think whether it's novelty or youth obsession - people who truly love music can respect an artist who has been refined through the years. Sometimes more than what is trending. When it really comes down 2 it.

Nas is one of the best rappers that walked this earth period. How on earth can people listen to trap when this dope shit is out is beyond me. He is a craftsman at work. Like a boat builder wants to make his ship as hydrodynamic as possible Nas tries to perfect his rap game. Even though in my head it cannot get better than this Nas keeps surprising me with his music.
