Remember this era like it was yesterday...2002 Summer Jam when Nas was mad that Hot 97 pulled his set because Jay and Def Jam put pressure on them, then that clown Flex let Cam'ron get on radio and rap about molesting Nas daughter. Totally unacceptable and why I never respected Cam from that point on. I rode with Nas 100% back then and his words are just as real today as they were then. Salute to the legend and the best lyricist to ever put a pen to paper, Nasir Bin Olu Dara Jones.

FOR EVERYTHING NAS SAID IN THIS INTERVIEW I HAVE ANALYZED VERY WELL AND THIS IS HOW I SEE IT. FIRST WITH CAM’RON: NAS DECIDED TALK ABOUT HIM CAUSE TO HE KNOWS THAT CAM IS BETTER THAN THAT AND NAS KNOWS VERY WELL THAT THE MCS THAT COME FROM HARLEM ARE VERY GOOD LYRICISTS. BUT IT FEELS LIKE CAM FELL INTO THE SEDUCTIONS OF THE INDUSTRY BY MAKING COMMERCIAL MUSIC IN ORDER TO GAIN FAME AND FORTUNE AND LOOSING HIS TRUE ARTISTRY AT THE SAME TIME. AND HIM BEING SURROUNDED BY A LOT OF YES MEN THEY WILL NEVER TELL HIM THAT THE ALBUM IS WACK. AND NAS WAS TRYING TO GIVE SOME GAME TO CAM THAT HE WAS BETTER THAN THAT BUT CAM LET THE SUCCESS OFF OF HIS ALBUM GET TO HIS HEAD THAT’S WERE TENSIONS BETWEEN CAM AND NAS STARTED. NELLY: DURING THAT TIME IN THE EARLY 00s IN TWO YEARS NELLY CAME OFF OF THE SUCCESS OF HIS FIRST TWO ALBUM GETTING A LOT ACCOLADES AND PLATINUM PLAQUES. THEN HE STARTED TO FEELING HIMSELF TOO MUCH AND HE FELT THAT HE WAS GOING STAY FOR A LONG TIME. THE ISSUE WITH KRS ONE I REALLY DON’T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED. BUT I FEEL LIKE PROBABLY KRS ONE WAS UPSET THE DIRECTION HIP HOP WAS TAKING AND THE MUSIC THAT NELLY WAS MAKING DURING THAT TIME WAS A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF THAT. THEN NELLY BECAME ARROGANT TOWARDS KRS ONE AND FUNNILY ENOUGH SAID THAT HE WAS GOING TO BATTLE KRS WHICH I KNOW NELLY IS NOT A LYRICIST AND HE WAS JUST TROLLING AND MAKING FUN OF HIM. SO BY NELLY AT THAT HE IS ONE OF THE EXAMPLES THAT WE SEE TODAY BY YOUNGER RAPPERS DISRESPECTING RAPPERS THAT CAME BEFORE THEM AND NEVER SHOWING ANY KIND OF RESPECT TO THEM. EVEN THOUGH NAS RECOGNIZED NELLY’S TALENT AND GAVE HIM PROPS. THAT STATEMENT BY BATTLING AN OG MC LIKE KRS ONE DID NOT SIT WELL WITH NAS CAUSE HE ALWAYS HAS SHOWED LOVE AND RESPECT TO THE OGS THAT CAME BEFORE THEM. NORE: NOT TOO MUCH I CAN SAY ABOUT NORE CAUSE IS ALMOST THE SAME AS CAM BUT THE DIFFERENCE IS THAT THIS IS A QUEENS THING. AND NAS KNOWS THAT NORE VERY WELL RESPECT MC BUT HE IS NOT TAKING IT SERIOUSLY CAUSE HE ALSO WANTS TO GET MAINSTREAM SUCCESS AND NAS DID NOT LIKE THAT WHICH AT THE SAME TIME WAS ALSO KILLING THE GOOD REPUTATION OF QUEENSBRIDGE. HOT 97: I WILL GIVE A LITTLE RESUME ON THESE TOPICS. FIRST OFF ANGIE MARTINEZ. NAS DIDN’T UNDERSTAND WHY ANGIE DECIDED TO BE RAPPER WHEN PEOPLE KNOW VERY WELL THAT SHE IS MORE OF A INTERVIEWER. OR MAYBE IS THE FACT SHE ALSO WANTED TO SELL SOME RECORDS AND AS PEOPLE KNOW HER ALBUM FLOPPED BADLY. AND THE WAY THE RADIO STATIONS CAN BE POLITICAL AT THE SAME BY ASSOCIATING THEMSELVES WITH BIGGER COMPANY LABELS. JUST LIKE ROC-A-FELLA WAS VERY BIG AT THE TIME AND THEY ARE THE REASON WHY NAS’ SET FOR THE HOT97 SUMMER JAM IN 2002 WAS JEOPARDIZED BECAUSE THEY DID NOT WANT HIM TO USE THE JAY-Z DUMMY FOR THE LYNCHING AND JAY KNEW THAT BY THIS HAPPENING WOULD OF HURT HIS STATUS AND IMAGE. AND HOV COULD NOT LET THAT HAPPEN. AND LOW KEY HE WAS THE ONE BEHIND THIS. AND THIS COMES TO SHOW HOW CORRUPT RADIO STATIONS CAN BE SOMETIMES BY TAKING ON THE TABLE FROM THE BEST BIDDER.
