I'd be tempted to take my helmet off and find out what Mars smells like.
@norbert09917 күн бұрын
That's probably the last thing you will ever do on Mars because I don't think you will be able to put your Helmet back on while suffocating, freezing really badly and super low pressure doing something to your Eyes etc. ... the average air pressure on Mars is 0.0060 atm so no, don't even think about it. You prob. won't smell much from the thin air anyways.

… I never seem to know when these videos show the colors as they would appear to the human eye in Mars’s dimly lit daytime. Sometimes we see color-corrected, etc. images but we’re not told if this is the case here or not.

Why not go and look at the RAW images? Then you will think you know. What do you know about photography, white balance, colour and colour-correction?

Still can't get my head around the fact that these are sedimentary rocks. Formed, like ours, over millions of years, and eroded like ours from layers then into sand. But no evidence of what created the layering, or what eroded the formations? And does this planet even have an atmosphere?

Already posted a comment, but another has to be . . 'what was the real purpose of doing this?' I am a numbskull who struggles to get a kite in the sky for my grandkids some days, so forgive me for asking, but what was the discussion at NASA like when somebody pitched the idea? How was the $billions justified?
