I still say take the plates off and let em rip. AMS has the opportunity to be even faster than Texas was. I hate to say I hope an idea flops, but I think this mini-plate package Nascar wants is robbing AMS from being one of, if not THE Baddest Fastest tracks in the world.

I could be wrong, but I predict it does flop. The corners are too tight of a radius and when they get in really dirty air the cars will push and the field will spread out, unless they are so incredibly deprived of power and going so slowly that the trailing car can still hold it wide open even in dirty air, but in that case they won’t have enough power to build momentum and pass so it will be a pack parading around in circles with little actual racing going on. I don’t see any way a track this size can produce racing like Daytona and Talladega.

Mr. Boomer, Atlanta is NOT a restrictor plates track. Gen-7 race cars are 670 hp.

"Daytona International Speedway (2.5 miles) and Talladega Superspeedway (2.66 miles) are the lone two tracks NASCAR characterizes as “superspeedways.” Both are large oval tracks and use restrictor plates to keep the speed of the vehicle in check."

They almost got me watching again until they stopped Brandon's new sponsor after they had already approved them so it looks like even nascar is still way to cowardly to watch. They should have never changed their name from Winston Cup. If it wasn't for Winston who helped make nascar popular to the masses it would have probably still be an unknown sport. They screwed the company who put them on the map and now they are screwing Brandon Sponsor. It's like they are trying to make it boring on purpose.
