Relive the 2005 Daytona 500 that saw names like Earnhardt Jr., Busch, Stewart, Johnson and Gordon in a intense dogfight in the closing laps.
The '05 500 would eventually be won by Jeff Gordon after making a pass on Dale Earnhardt Jr. late in the race, handing the four-time champion his third and final win in "The Great American Race."

Most underrated Daytona 500 there is in my opinion. I can't remember such a star-studded finish with Gordon vs. DEI and Stewart and the (fake 04 champ) getting involved. The plate races from 2003 to 2007 always being dominated by Gordon (HMS)/DEI/Stewart was the peak of plate racing.

NASCAR needs it's own version of the WWE network and have all these races, documentaries, and interviews in one app. It's amazing to see races from back then. These kids need to know who the legends are and the history of NASCAR so they can respect it

An amazing race and rare one where the best car actually won the race. Jeff Gordon had the best car in testing, qualifying practice & twin 150s. And was one of a few cars that could consistently challenge for the lead, especially on the outside line. It’s a shame that Michael Waltrip had his engine blow up, because he had the second best car. He would have been able to give Jeff a legit challenge at the end of the race.

@Jimmy’s Model Trains Mikey & Jeff had equally strong cars. Both cars could run the top & bottom to make consistent passes… Jeff won the race with a pass on the outside lane, which he had been trying for the last 25 laps of the race. Fun Fact: Martin Truex Jr and Kyle Busch are currently the last two active drivers in the field who competed in this race.

An obscure odditiy regarding this race: - John Andretti drove in the #14 for ppc racing (the team most notable for having the John Deere 97 ride originally, then mostly riding on the Busch Series, winning a championship with Jeff Green in the Nesquik car), having a cigarette sponsor named Victory, making this last time this kind of sponsorship would be involved in Nascar. The team itself would only last the first 3 races. After DNQ-ing two races in a row, the team (the Cup variant) suddenly folded.

43 drivers in the field, only 6 still active. Johnson, Newman, Kurt Busch, Kyle Busch, Harvick, and Truex. Johnson only one still with same team.

The Iceberg loves the 2005 Daytona 500 and I'm sure he's real excited for that race. Also NASCAR, can you please upload the 2001 Pepsi 400 at Daytona, 2005 Brickyard 400, 1997 Pepsi 400, 2004 Pepsi 400, 2003 EA Sports 500, 2002 UAW GM Quality 500, 1992 Winston All Star Race, 1997 Daytona 500, 1990 Daytona 500, 2001 Brickyard 400, and the 2004 Coca Cola 600? That would be awesome!
