It's a racecar from top to bottom. It's a tube chassis that started on a jig in a chassis shop. Why does everyone think these cars are big bricks? It's a racecar flat out.

@@d.j.langehennig6330 Restrictions! This car didn’t have any restrictions because they thought it couldn’t compete. Turned out, the GT cars couldn’t compete with G56. Also, it had more power but was 95kgs/205lbs heavier than any GT car. Add that same weight to any hyper car and they become an LMP2 or worst. I think everyone should appreciate what this car did at Lemans.

​@D T Le Mans, please show some respect by spelling it correctly. The car was impressive, but really, it was only racing itself. It is also far and away different than a regular NASCAR cup car. The car was unrestricted because all the other classes were, thus why it was it's own special classification, just like the Nissan Deltawing. Bye bye stickers, because there was a lot more than real lights and real taillights that made this car different. Corvette Racing has been carrying the US flag and V8s for this competition/race. If the GT cars were also unrestricted, they would've smoked this car. The older Corvette C5R was pushing power and sounds just like it. The Corvette C6R and C7R were down in power because of race regulations, but they still brought the sound.

Yes, but the LMGTE have around 500hp and limited by BoP... The "Nascar" is 700hp with only 95kg more. I put "this" around Nascar because it is not the same car... the only real Nascar thing about the car are the V8 engine (but it's more powerful compared to the original one) and the aesthetic. Almost everything has been modified

@@mancuso.alessandro ⁠​⁠ an American muscle brick that’s not made aerodynamically can still keep up with aerodynamic HyperCars when people originally thought the car would fall on their ass. I think it’s just years of European narcissism in terms of cars that made them think the American cars are worse than they actually are. As jenson says the muscle cars are fun to drive and built for a different class / purpose. A muscle car at Le Mans is like a lightweight boxer fighting a heavyweight and still managing to keep up, surprising everyone. Also the car was modified from NASCAR standards in order to adjust to the track (turning right lol) and some regulations I think. They kept it as NASCAR-y as possible for a Le Mans race

I'm about as far from being a NASCAR fan as I can get, but although I hate to admit it, I really like this car. I think they have a great driver lineup, F1 Champ Jenson Button, NASCAR Champ Jimmie Johnson and LeMans Champ Mike Rockenfeller, and a great crew to support them. I think this car will surprise a lot of people and be a crowd favorite, and I really hope it does well, is competitive and is still competing on Sunday after 24 hours of racing. also the lap times its putting up are insane. i saw something today saying they were over 5 secounds faster a lap then the entire gte field. if the reliability is there which is a big part of it combined with the driver lineup, the pit crew (fastest pitstop in class with a floor jack and 5th fastest overall in the challenge) this car is going to be a problem. i think its going to win alot of fans over who were probably skeptical and maybe looking at as a pr stunt

They did not release that info, however it's slower down the straights than the GT's due to the large rear spoiler. However, it makes up a ton of time in the turns and initial acceleration

@@jcsquared1111 A proper rear wing would reduce drag on the straights and provide a lot more downforce in corners. But NASCAR doesn't use wings, they use spoilers. It would ruin the brand DNA to use a wing. I'm excited to see it because it's such an oddball for this course, but I think we're about to see the worlds most expensive participation trophy. The NASCAR is a farm mule racing purebreds at the Kentucky Derby. The cars DNA just isn't even close to the competitors.

NASCAR did use rear wings with the Gen 5 “Car of Tomorrow” from 2007-2010. The problem was at high speed tracks, especially Daytona and Talladega, the wind passing over the wings would cause the cars to flip over too easily when they spun out.

@@ChrisMolyneaux93 This is a common misconception. There have been many more flips at Daytona and Talladega without the rear wing than with them. It's the pack racing and engine HP restrictions that cause wrecks that lead to cars flipping. Every other major racing series in the world - including Top Fuel - uses a rear wing and doesn't have those problems.

That's the sole purpose of the Garage 56 entry. To allow one-offs or new concepts to get public exposure. 2012 - Deltawing. 2013- GreenHT H2 EV - did not race. 2014 - Nissan ZEOD RC (based on the Deltawing). 2015 - Morgan LMP2 SRT41. Remains the only Garage 56 car to ever finish the race. 2020 - Vision 1789 Hypercar. Covid meant it did not get to run.

1) I love it! If we can play American football in London then we can drive American NASCAR at LeMans! 2) The fact that this car we now know ran the entire race means that it is also reliable! 3) 2024 LeMans needs at least 5 or 6 race teams entered! Watching this a year after the race and after watching the race again...
