@AIBM3 There's a story behind the less-than-ideal camera angle. When I got word Rusty decided to drive the car, I fumbled to setup a camera before he hit the track. He was quite impatient, so I was unable to "test" the camera angle. I'm just happy we got some footage! Glad you enjoy!

This guy was one of the best road course racers ever to compete in nascar and he could probably still be doing it today if he wanted. Beautiful car and amazing engine sounds. Very nice vid and the camera angle was fine to me.

Only an oval racer could ever be so smooth on such a brutal car. Amazing drive by Wallace, and a pleasure to see how in the long right hander he almost didn't make any steering correction, all the adjustment was made with throttle. Talk about choosing the right line on such a difficult corner! BTW the Mustang is a weird mix of two models :-( up until the doors it is one car, and from there rearwards a different year one!

@rtrestorations Ha ha, well for the average european like me, a car with such a big engine and such a rear axle is certainly not an easy one to drive. Of course Wallace, being an ace at stock car racing, sure found the car delightful. I love the car and loved your video an restoration, it's just that from my point of view, used to european cars, I find it even more admirable that he could drive it so smoothly. Pity that the view in the camera was partially hidden at the top!

I dont think Nascar Cup series cars could even put a finger a on how well these cars stick through the corners

Is it me, or because he is behind the wheel that car sounds like a nascar now?

Awesome video... A special note, don't take the suggestion that KZbin offers to "smooth" your video. That's why the dash looks liquid and a few other areas. Thanks for sharing though!! This is music to your ears no matter what denomination you are..Ford or Chevy.
How fast does this thing get on the straight? I didn't know you had a '69! I thought they were both '70s! Even thought at 3:36 it looks like a '70 to me. xD BTW, how much does this car weight? Im full of questions, so expect more - I know I expect more videos!! =D

@B0SSNINE 160mph down front straight! Car weights 3150lbs. This is legal weight for our class. Good eye! This car was build in 1969, but for consistency sake and interchangeability of parts, we put '70 bodywork on it. Best time in this car at Road America 2:26.66. That would would have qualified for the NASCAR Nationwide race at Road America this past June. Not bad for an old Mustang!!!
