Some minor differences i noticed, or may have not seen before - The rear diffuser is much less protrusive, meaning it sticks out less -The color of the wheels is slightly darker, and there are more spokes - The front seems to have bigger vents/grille, possibly - I think they tested a big spoiler and small spoiler -Seems to be braking significantly later going into final chicane, i noticed. Later braking will probably come into bigger play once this car rolls out, so that will be interesting to see who can do that the best -Slightly better lap times a believe. -Smoother and faster shifts of course (Sequential gearbox) -Sounds a bit more akin to actual stock muscle cars than Gen 6, but it might be a bit quieter. I might find some footage and compare. Feel free to note anything i missed.

The reason for the raspy kind of sound is (IN MY OPINION I THINK) due to a dual side exit port exhaust, but not only that, the headers seem to be opened differently and the header tubing probably has different bends coming out of the engine, and that is the last reason, the engine might be a DOHC N/A V8 instead of a OHV or Pushrod V8. My friend has a mustang 5.0 and he did a header/cammed tune to it and straight piped it and it sounds really close to these new raspy sounding V8 nascar gen 7 cars. Usually DOHC engines let you rev higher too, so I mean they got the Pushrod engine back in 2014 to rev out at 9500 rpms so I'm not sure why they would switch to DOHC I'm assuming. Also Kurt Busch mentioned in an interview that this car is supposedly a hybrid too ???? That is out of my area of expertise so can't answer that. But as for my basic knowledge of car engines, it does not have that pushrod howl/deep American note. It has a DOHC raspy out of control *blahh* note. Still a great sound, very freaking loud due to high rpms, so hey who knows. Gotta wait until 2022 to check these bad boys out.

If I've seen it right on the Thumbnail, the splitter is notched and its got some little flics on the outer edges. Maybe to channel airflow around the car to seal a possible Venturi Tunnel beneath it. If I'm right, the cars aren't as nearly reliant on overbody down/sideforce like the COT or Gen6, making the cars even faster and easier to race each other wheel to wheel, eliminating the dirty air problem.
