The framerate drop could be due to the grandstands and pit row graphics being set to full. You can set hotkeys to toggle the settings in the menu. There could be other settings causing the drops, but that's my best guess.

From my experience the grandstands shouldn’t be an issue. This mod is absolutely allergic to shadows, that’s the core of the problem

The COT was my childhood but I would rather forget the 2007 and 2010 versions. At least the 2011 and 2012 Gen 5 looked closer to the Gen 4 except with a splitter

Turning off the shadows helps with the glitching, I don’t think it’s the mod as I have the issue with a lot of mods, more of an optimization issues, turning the pit crews down to low will help with the frames as well. I also have the glitching issue more frequently with cloudy weather in game

You need to turn some shadow stuff off for the next gen mod. Their gonna fix it but for now turn the shadows off the buildings and structures will fix it

We run that mod every week with no issues. And the physics are no different just because it's a NextGen. Nice seeing my car on screen so much, though. And running 2nd to Junior, no less.

there is a folder in the track download with sd textures that should help on the bbmc tracks

Getting the 4g patch plus lowering the car to medium and pit quality will help with the framerate

Why didn't you just turn down some of the more unimportant graphics settings? Also, thanks for this series. It brings back memories of college. I used to play this in my dorm room that had a T1 connection, so I hosted a lot of races.

you probably have uncompressed pit pox textures, as i had a similar issue with the nextgen mod, i use win mip2 to compress them and it fixed everything, also most new mods dont work well with shadows from objects and cars, you can have them on but not the option to have them on the cars

I downloaded the schemes I can’t remember what site it’s called but it’s basically a trading paints but for nr 2003 so I downloaded a lot of the drivers and was able to race with the full 2022 roster I actually have a video of that on a my channel

Some .car files in the mod you are using could also be over 5mb in which can also cause graphical artifacts. Best is to delete those files and get new ones that have been compressed.
