Fox makes nascar look like a boring joke
@naparacingfan92757 ай бұрын
It's very sad to see how far FOX has fallen. They were once the gold standard. Now they are the best example of what not to do for NASCAR broadcasts. Still sad the show is getting canceled even if it's not the show from the glory days of SPEED. Feels like with this cancelation they could care less about NASCAR and just have it as another property. Really hope IndyCar doesn't go to FOX!

@@tommymac3029 "Jamie Little is awesome." Jamie Little tries too hard, acting as if she still must prove she belongs there. She also has taken on the Adam Alexander mode: everything is dramatic and the "most important (_______)" since the previous "(_______.)" The one who commits this sin most actually is Rick Allen, which makes NBC coverage even worse than that of Fox. Danielle Trotta was the best host; Kaitlyn Vincie is excellent. Shannon Spake has a studio style similar to Alexander. Hopefully, Kevin Harvick will be given more time to develop, since he's a natural. Fox should jettison Clint Bowyer, who brings nothing but bombast to the broadcast. Without question, Steve Byrnes and Speed were the epitome of NASCAR broadcasting. The fact that NASCAR, in the early 2000's emphasized their regional divisions, both in terms of rules, types of racetracks, and geography, made the programming must-watch. Alas, those days, not unlike so much else, remain available on here and in our memories.

The early years of Race Hub felt like a show made by Nascar fans for Nascar fans. Over time it tried to become a sports show that would fit on any sports network. Bizarrely the opposite of NASCAR on Fox which too often feels silly and unserious Race Hub became too sterile.
@MdM97x7 ай бұрын
RaceHub used to be so engaging, Steve was a great host along with Danielle, and the set they used felt like they were filming it in some fans man cave with all the race memorabilia and merchandise on the walls. It was informative, funny but also just fun. Now since Fox Sports took it over in the mid 2010s after Steve died,it kinda felt lifeless. Adam Alexander and spake can get annoying and try to make everything a joke and the set became a made-up place with the green screen. Wish speed channel was still around because I feel raceHub would’ve still been pretty good.

Simply put people can go on social media and get the news within a few minutes instead of watching a hour long show.

Sorry for those that actually like the new hub, but it just became a fluff hot air promotion show. They spend half the show kissing nascars ass. Obviously they thought they had to make nascar happy to be pertinent or maybe were simply told that would be the way it was going to be. It is just a waste of time. No racing information or basis. They could even make about zero use of larry, not that he is any brain of conveying info. And sorry but it went to hell before any of the woke stuff started, but it may have somewhat added in the last year or so. Now into the whole disaster that is the racing product is a whole different story.

The Larry McReynolds “pump the brakes” segments in 2018 were great. But like on Sundays, Fox completely wastes his talent and that was shown when they phased out that part of the show.

@@FuelCellFull I have never liked having no crew chief or somebody that has some kind of actual racing or car knowledge on the three man team. When they went to two drivers i knew what it was all about. We have a major mess in nascar today. Started about 20 years ago for the racing 'product'.

No one could replace Steve, he was just a jewel for the sport and with Jimmy to lighten everything up and have some fun. I know things change but FS1 just ruined this show. Jimmy Spencer was a better driver than he got credit for but I used to laugh so hard at him sometimes, like eating his cigar. His segment was totally different than anything I had ever seen. Problem was that a lot of fans hated Spencer for things he did on the track. Then, where I live Race Hub became pay per view and I decided that I could not afford to pay extra for it. So in short they had to become factual rather than entertaining for PR sake. We saw this cut with race hub happening. NASCAR is going down the toilet because everything is too expensive, nobody has a sponsor, everybody has to be 100% PR friendly, and everybody is so vanilla except for Kyle Busch. There is nothing they can do either. NASCAR the sanctioning body kept trying to change the car in the 2010s thinking that would improve viewership but it made it 10 times worse. So I’m jumping ship. Jimmy Spencer had the nickname "Mr. Excitement" back in the day but he was terrible on screen and in any event is now "Mr. Irrelevant" when it comes to NASCAR. But you really went off the rails when you blamed Shannon Spake for the show's downfall. How absurd can you get? She is totally professional and an excellent host. She does other work for Fox besides Race Hub. Then going off on a completely unsupported tangent about the show being muzzled because of criticisms from NASCAR or sponsors is just the icing on a very bad cake.
