Playoffs need to change to 3 rounds, round of 16 with 3 races, round of 12 with 3 races, championship 8 with 4 races... Points reset with the final 8 and the most points win.

It needs to be changed for sure, but I'd just rather go back to the original Chase setup. Ten races prevents 1 poor result with really bad timing from a dominant season driver being eliminated, and if you can come back from waaaay back in points (like Stewart did when he won 5 of the final 10 races), then you deserve it.

This "playoff" format DOES NOT reward the best, most consistent driver! There is too much "pot-luck" involved in who wins the championship. Look at wins, laps lead, top 5s, top 10s, playoff points even. None of the championship 4 lead in any of those categories! Also, there is a bit of an advantage having 1 race determine the championship. Surely, the championship competing drivers do not run Phoenix with the same ability or confidence at that track, giving advantage to someone. There needs to be a bit more to being the champion than a "green, white, checker" finish for the championship.

Dock each manufacturer 50 manf. points for each car that manipulated the race. Toyota -50 (#23) and Chevy -100 (#3, #1). That would kill their abilities to win and it costs them millions, especially since Chevy is about 40 pts ahead of Ford.

DQ the 20 and 24, for benefiting from the manipulation of the finish. Have to keep integrity of the sport and fair racing for the fans. Send a message to the teams. Put the 5 car in the final 4. Then after this year, go to the format who ever has most wins at the end of the season wins the championship. No points. If there is a tie for wins, go to most secounds and most thirds. No more points and you won't have this mess. This format will Make drivers battle for wins. Run up front for the best finshes. Do away with the points.
