These cars are actually more like the old IROC series and SCCA Pro TransAm series cars of the 60’s, 70’s and early 80’s. It’s what NASCAR wishes it could have been. No restrictions, balls out engines, suspension and brake mods! Beautiful rolling iron!

Nascar needs to get to a "if you can pass tech" you're in model & as much as Ray Evernham tries to revive IROC there's just too much going on today it seems to get fans back 😕 These cars are Amazing!!!
@medic530673 ай бұрын
@@cjbecker1683 one of the many tech issues that nascar has itself created is the ‘template’ system. Having read many accounts of how the original cars were modified for high speed tracks v. short ovals NASCAR itself has created the problems that fans are getting angry about. There’s no rewards for innovation or trying to find a better way. Bumper to bumper 200 mph runs might look great for TV but destroying 5-15 cars at once doesn’t make for a great race. NASCAR spends more money and time controlling car designers than most racing series out there, except maybe F1. Many of us witnessed what could be achieved by NASCAR based vehicle at LeMans when the Hendricks Garage 56 Camaro was able to destroy most of the GT3 cars. And they had to do it with real doors, working headlights and brake lights as well as wipers and the ability to run in the rain. NASCAR plays to the TV networks, not the fans. What a shame the direction they’ve gone in. I’m not a huge NASCAR fan, I love sports car racing and older series like IROC, and TransAm. But I was in awe of that LeMans Camaro! Shows what North American racing design can really do if allowed to work with few restrictions.
@medic530673 ай бұрын
@@nashidaperv2351 Ray Everham is a designer genius. He was probably one of the last innovators in NASCAR, which meant twisting the rules. Which of course gets pretty old. Dan Gurney, one of the greatest race car designers stopped entering nascar races primarily for this reason. Unfortunately, you’re right. There’s many racing series vying for fans money (ticket sales) and introducing another one albeit an incredible series, would just thin out consumer spending dollars. I recently worked at a TransAm race here in Canada at my home track (MOSPORT) and the cars were amazing. But attendance was not as good as it was hoped. Many younger people don’t know much about TransAm, or IROC so getting them out for a race can be difficult.
