One of the most messed up debris yellows in NASCAR history. Kurt should’ve filed robbery charges.

Aye, best thing NASCAR has done since airing their races live on tv decades ago is certainly the uploading of races to youtube! Just wanna extend my appreciation! Happy racing!

Nascar, Thank You for deciding to upload full races this year and hopefully for the future. It's such a great way to for us fans to see them, even if delayed by a few days. We're very grateful!

This was Kurt's first race back after a suspension that ultimately shouldn't have happened. And any other time a car wrecks like Biffle did, they throw the caution, look at the last lap of the 2015 Daytona 500. So they don't when Kurt's leading all of a sudden? Smh NASCAR.
@jacktheripoff18886 жыл бұрын
Spot on! They didn't want Kurt winning because of potential "image trouble" it might have brought. So hence the what I call "gum-wrapper caution". Don't get me wrong, everyone knows Kurt is famous for not doing himself any favors. But he did nothing wrong here except being about to win a race they didn't want him to win. The 2 restarts were even a bigger joke. Cars in back going for 4 tires and now going to have a cluster-%&^# restart? Wow! Never saw that coming. This was really when I gave the finger to the sport. I wasn't a lifer. I was one of those newbies to the sport from the early 2000's, but I was really hooked into it for a decade, loved it. But starting around 2011-12, I could start to see the decay.

It's funny how different these races used to be. Back in the day, there were legitimate cautions for accidents and the commentators actually showed some excitement. Now with all the phantom debris caution flags, it can be a few minutes until anybody even knows why one was thrown. Nascar has become so cookie cutter that it is as boring as watching paint dry. Bring back the 90s!!
@TitanicGaming329 жыл бұрын
Adam Wright I agree with you about the commentator part. The television broadcasters hardly announce the race, they mostly talk about past history or what they think is going to happen. MRN, a team of radio broadcasters, actually announce the race with excitement. They should replace the TV guys.Cautions for debris is a smart call, you can't have cars driving through bits and pieces, cutting their tires, damaging the front of the car, cutting a hole in the grill..
@allabouthewaves43549 жыл бұрын
After 2007, Debris Cautions were a thing. 2008 to me saw Three Drivers dominate the whole season- Johnson, Kyle, and Carl who won 66% of the races.

They didn't want a Busch win first race after his suspension, hence the gum-wrapper caution. Fixed. This is why newbie fans like myself who came in during the early 2000's, and up until 2012-13 loved it, tuned away in disgust. Spin-gate was a big nail and an ever more ridiculous playoff format were other's. Probably the most ridiculous thing was the new qualifying format. I used to love coming home from work on Thursday-Friday and watch qualifying under the standard format. Ask what I thought was the greatest "post-season" performance by anyone in any sport in the last 20 years, it was Stewart in 2011's chase, winning 5 out of 10 races with the final epic win at Homestead. And then the sport began to circle the drain from a self-inflicted pulling of the drain plug.

Try being a fan as a kid in the late 90's, going to all Busch and Winston races at Dover from 1998-2001, going to the Pepsi 400 as an 8 year old in 99. Touring JGR and RCR headquarters, taking a lap around Charlotte in a van that felt like it was gonna tip over. Seeing the Fans Against Gordon sign every race at Dover, hearing the crowd go nuts when Dale Sr or Jr took the lead. I was at the the Dover race in September 2001, the first race after 9/11, and the atmosphere was unbelievable. I can understand the COT and safety changes. But the "Chase", then stage racing and playoffs, plus "overtime" feel so contrived, like they are trying to be the NFL of racing. Never mind NASCAR absolutely exploded in the late 90s with the old rules. I still love going to races, there's just nothing like seeing and hearing 40 V8S absolutely screaming past at 150mph+. But NASCAR has made so many missteps that took them away from "real" racing. They're trying to get back to roots with old tracks and dirt races, road courses. But they need to let teams craft and perfect their cars instead of forcing them to use the same parts and 550hp packages.

Another race ruined by shoddy NASCAR officiating. The drivers should take their sponsors, LEAVE NASCAR, and start their OWN racing league that actually respects racing instead of.....whatever the hell NASCAR "respects".
