That was some badass racing, they need to add just a bit more throttle, that must be extremely frustrating for drivers,,was awesome race though! To bad it was shortened :(

@@brendathompson7827 no just a bit more throttle control, and response, seemed a little flat and boggy, like the 4 barrels needed to open up a bit more!

I'm not sure about anyone else, but if we can get racing like this every single race NASCAR may have a chance to become as great as they used to. close quoters pack racing, bumping and bashing, crazy runs, aggressive racing, racers being able to drive in very line on the track, drivers having to fight for control of the cars. This is what made NASCAR so popular back in the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s. They took this style of aggressive hard hitting racing away from us. NASCAR was built on this style of racing. All the best races from yesteryear we love so much was this style of racing. NASCAR needs to go back to cars with 900+ horsepower, aggressive bump and bash racing, and having the cars race in close quoters pack like this race and NASCAR will go back to being the undisputed king of motorsports.
@justincarrick8673
@justincarrick8673 Жыл бұрын
The reason we moved away from that was because people were literally dying. The racers wont let them go back to that old style.
@Trainlover1995
@Trainlover1995 Жыл бұрын
Correction: Toyota took this style of racing away. They bitched and moaned that they kept blowing engines in 2014, so NASCAR caved to them and created the 2015 rules package that destroyed the racing product, but Toyota didn't care. They weren't blowing engines anymore, and one of their drivers won the 2015 championship (under dubious circumstances).

@@Trainlover1995 Your saying Toyota did this? You got to be kidding me 🤦🏾‍♂️. I seriously I thought it was weird to see 2 muscle car legends vs a random every day man's car in Nascar but now I see it's worse.
@racingray5450
@racingray5450 Жыл бұрын
@@justincarrick8673 People was only dying because the cars wasn't not what we have now. Back then Stock car racing meny stock car racing. Aka the car you drive on a day-to-day basis is the car you raced in and when that went away the technology to keep the cars safe is nothing like how we have now. I mean Nascar fans bitched and moaned about the looks of the COT when it had the wing but it was by far the safest car Nascar ever had. Did it flip? Yes but drivers normally walked away with maybe minor scratches. Remember the crazy crash of the #00 car and how he rolled so much and the car was destroyed? Yeah imagine if that happened back without the COT no wonder they kept dying. And as much as people to bitch and moan about the Gen 7 car they still improving the car and it now has better protection for crashes compared to the crash that side lined Alex Bowman. Case in point we have better technology so the exuses of yesteryears cars for why we can't have this style of racing every week is like saying because I was hurt by a girl when I was 7 all women are evil. It's no excuse. We got the better cars we just got pussies for drivers that don't want to give the face what they want. Remember what DW said. It might be expensive to fix and they might get but it's a sacrifice they must be willing to pay to have fans come back. Nascar is slowly getting back to it's former glory. The best way to fix this problem 100% is to have the close, high speed, aggressive racing that had people fall in love with Nascar since the beginning but we continue to fall away from it I promise you Nascar will be nothing but a joke.

The track wasn't reconfigured, it was repaved, and the corners are four degrees steeper. I would love to see these guys race with the downforce package before the repave. Speeds would be quick, but not as fast as Geoffrey Bodine's 1997 qualifying record of 197 MPH.

i personally think that they should race through unless its a very bad storm. Throw them on some wet tires and let them go. sure itll be slower but racing in the rain should be part of it. Also if the fans only get to watch 2/3 of a race they should get a partial refund lol

“Loose before Jones ever touched Larson” my ass. Btw, i’m a #48 car fan. Bowman is trying to win races without teammates. Larson is just a popular driver that just cares about himself. Byron isn’t finding his teammates on the track and only races good when he wants to. And Elliot is just a terrible driver.

I hate they canceled the last of the race. Driving in the rain should be part of the sport. Get them on some wet tires and then they need to learn to go slower on the corner instead of the same speed. i dont think its fair on the other racers or fans to not finish whats promised. I get if it was super bad storm but it wasnt.

@@mech0p cars on normal roads slip in the rain and they're not going anywhere near these speeds. Even if 120 was somehow slow enough to keep them from slipping, what kind of race are you expecting? Its just gonna be cars going in circles at slow speeds, which nobody wants
@mech0p
@mech0p Жыл бұрын
@@omerbalikci3565 i wouldnt consider 150ish that slow but it also shows off more skills that these guys should have as well and shows who the best all around driver is. But I promise you that a wet race where they hit 150+ will be just as if not more entertaining than a dry race where they hit 200+. There is a reason why some of the best races in f1 happen in the rain because it brings out a different skill set and makes the race more technical.
