As a fan I am glad for the change in the DVP. Say you're a huge fan of a particular driver. You go to a race, your driver crashes early. You want to see your driver back on track, even if he is laps down.

This just came to my mind when you were talking about the new provisional rule...expand it to include NASCAR Hall of Famers. I wouldn't give every retiree a provisional, but if Gordon, Earnhardt, Stewart, and other retirees in the HoF who aren't well into their 60's want to do a race, welcome them in!

The competition is close enough that a full season point format would work great. People say that they would race differently and yeah, that may be true, after a crash, they would try to fix the car and ride around to pick up three spots. Because if a driver has a car that could win the race, they’re going to try to win the race. If a driver is in 11th place and has a chance to get 10th then he’s going to try to get the spot ahead of him. Racing is not typical sports and doesn’t need to be treated like such. quit calling it playoffs and quit calling it overtime. they are not playing, and there is no time.

Nascar should do what Indycar did. One TV network. I can watch all of Indycar over the air on local Fox. I will be able to watch maybe 1/2 of the Nascar races between over the air and Amazon. I'm not paying for more streaming services.

Great to see you you all back! In my opinion I really like the playoff idea in THEORY but NASCAR just needs to make 2 tweaks to make it really exciting and WAY more fair: 1) Get rid of the "win and you're in". Its a dumb idea that without it would have gotten rid of pretty much every controversial playoff entry last year. 2) Make the playoffs a 4 - 3 - 3 race system. 16 drivers to start. First 4 races, and then eliminate the worst 8 on points. 8 drivers left and another three races. Now we have the 3 final races with the remaining 4 drivers. No one race will determine the winner, and everyone got there on points, not just winning one or two races at an opportune time. No gimiky one race to determine the champion BS.
