The cars are loose and having really low downforce isn't helpful. Look at Byron and Truex. If they had a real spoiler, they wouldn't crash. Look at the crash that gave Dale Jr a concussion in 2016. The inside guy had little downforce. The package really is awful for drivers on the inside of another car. That's how these crashes happen.

I agree. The spoilers need to be taller and also allow the teams a range of angles like in the 80s and 90s. You can choose to run a shallower spoiler to gain more speed but your handling will suffer. That will put a bigger emphasis on a good handling setup instead of raw speed.

The track bite sticky compound helps but I was talking about the 36 degree non progressive banking and old asphalt surface. The entire race was pretty much bumper cars as the bump and run was the only way to pass and it was slick. Not a car got out of there without a bunch of donuts on the door and beat up fenders.

All in all I can't complain as my driver Ryan Blaney has been consistent and under the radar. Be interesting if one or two of them get eliminated in the first or second round.
