Synology dropped SHR support not because of performance issues, they dropped it because they refuse to use high performance system. You are so right! I would have pay more to Synology for a faster performant system, and save way more on gradual upgrade on drives.

not gen 4 backplane :S ideally have 2 x 16 slots for 200gb HDR
