On my Qnap, I do not see DNLA server or anything stating DNLA. How do I get it to show up in Applicaitons?

I have both a QNAP and a Synology and the big tie breaker in the DLNA implementation goes to Synology. When you customize the DLNA menu, with Synology you are able to select which folders contain your Music, Photos or video as the case may be. So, when you are navigating to your media on your smart TV for example, there are a lot less extraneous, useless folders to distract you. ( Yes, you could use Plex but if you are well organized, DLNA actually works not too badly if you just want to watch your movies etc without all of the Plex fluff.

Thank you for your series of videos for QNAP (and Synology) but I find my version which is a TS-664 does not have a DLNA application and I can't find it on the QNAP site either. Did this go away? Is there a video that explains why to do or what changes because its no longer available?

Well I installed that qsync. But you can also just sync with it without all that fuss. I only want to synchronize my personal folders (documents, downloads, desktop, etc.) across multiple systems. Without saving space or cleverly removed Because that's no use if you work with a laptop and are not on location. Then I don't have the files with me. And that only modified files are synced.

I have a question about 4K video. What is the quality of that? Do you need plex? Uptill now, what i have seen, the quality is not as good as on the apple tv.

Media Streaming Add-On is missing for me. To go to the DLNA Media Server Advanced Settings, it says the Media Streaming Add-On must be installed, and it sends you to the App Center, but Media Streaming Add-On is not available anywhere.... Help, I'm stuck.

Very good instructions. However I did a factory reset on my QNAP TS231. I am unable to get my third party apps, like minim server, kazoo server, Roon, etc. My 231 is about 8 years old. Is it to old to support those 3rd party apps?

Hi, my multimedia console always opens to a blank window with no menu on the left hand side with 'overview' etc. Any ideas why?

i have tried for weeks to get my media player to work but just will not play anything on my TV Music or video and still not sure if I should store all my information on it. I sent you a email with more detail hope you can help.

Thanks for the video. I ripped my cd library to a windows pcdrive and uploaded them to my 453D. When viewing in Music Station by Album, it appears that many of the first tracks of Albums appear as "Unknown album" and when the information for that tracked is viewed, the album cover art appears on the song but it is kind of lost in space to the other songs on the album. When I view the album via Windows file explorer, everything looks great. Next steps?

I think what happened to mine is that it take the NAS a few hours or even days to retrieve all of the meta data and cover art.

Ended up having to update the entire collection of MP3 tag data.
