I have been listening to these ghazals of Fareeda ji for 25 years now. It’s freakish that the ghazals Ali sang are my absolute favourites and I find them surreal. Fareeda ji was the favourite singer of my favourite Jagjit Singh as well. No words about Ali Sethi , he is out of this world.

When I first heard Ali Sethi, I thought this was just a rich boy with a passing fancy for Pakistani music. Now I feel grateful for this rising star on the horizon of great music. Farida Khanum is unquestionably great. But this young man has acquired brilliance to great joy of all those who love Pakistani music. And in such a short time. His command over "sur", "lah" and improvisation is marvelous. It was fortunate that the he ever beautiful Farida Khanum accepted him as an intern. He so effortlessly sings (finest ghazals of great masters, another plus) in her distinguished style. Extremely well taught Farida Khanum Saheba. Best of luck and God speed Ali Sethi. And yes, it is so good to have Sonia Hussain as a co presenter. Her language is high quality, she seems to understand ghazal and has an understated elegance.

I have been listening Muhammad Rafi to Noor Jahan and all our legends since 2007, I am 24 years old now, the way they sung flawless and incomparable singing no one can sing like these legends, if we talk about expressions in words and how to pronounce the word (Mohammad Rafi) was gifted. After a long time I find flawless singing, where singer was trying to express his feelings in words. This is so inimitable and ALI SETHI voice is like honey coated with chocolate.

He needs to practice for a few more years before trying his hand on such difficult masterpieces. I appreciate and acknowledge his Harvard degree and authorship, but classical music is a whole different ball game. For now, he should come up with original, simpler things and work seriously on his breathing during live r renditions. One thing that I highly commend is he did it live instead of pre-recording it in Sahir Bagga's studio like other episodes of Heritage.
