Jim Whatt was all over it b/c he was a fighter, and he knew what he was looking at, but that referee should’ve been in the least retrained but dismissed would’ve been my decision to pass dow. Like, referees are in there to protect guys, not send them home in a box. it’s almost like he was influenced by frank Warren‘s facial expression after that first left hook knockdown. Then Frank Warren jumping out of his chair when he saw that the referee didn’t stop the fight. It wasn’t out of concern for the other fighter it was him being worried about getting sued.

Dreadful referee. Oh, and agree with what they said prefight. I watched Benn and Mac fight live in 1995 and it was likely in my top five most exciting fights of all time. Two massive punchers in a real war. It's such a shame it will only ever be remembered for the tragic outcome. I've never seen a replay of it on TV, but it can be seen on youtube still.
