The publication of Kallan khan's Qawwalis makes us travel down the memory lane of History of Pakhtuns whose forefathers had travelled in the form of Lashkars to a remote region ,then known as Rohel.khund.The words,roh and kund,from Pushto,meaning plains of frontier people. Unfortunately,the Pakhtuns of U.P.lost their language towards the end of 19th century.History is silent about it They became Urdu-speaking people gradually but most of their customs remained unchanged or modified because of inter-action with many other races and cultures and linguistic millieu.
