Thank you for this video. It has taught me alot. My dog had a mass growing in his ileocolic valve and subsequently had the valve removed. He then went through 3 corrective surgeries for dehiscence. So he had a large portion of his gut removed. All 4 surgeries were done in a span of 2 weeks. A once 65-70 lbs dog, left the hospital at 56 lbs, and within 2 months of leaving the hospital, his weight went down to 48. Constant diarrhea every 2 hours, could not absorb any nutrients. He was also having a hard time eating/drinking his daily minimum requirements. He was rehospitalized, they had to put 1L of IV fluid for a week due to being so dehydrated, and during this time, he was started on cyclosporine and dexamethasone. He's now eating 5 meals a day and drinking approx 1.5L of water, so he's now meeting his daily requirements. He has really short breaths when sleeping, so this would be abnormal, and I'm not sure exactly what is causing the issue. He has a recheck on Jan 3rd, and hopefully he shows some upward trajectory. I also mentioned to the hospital on perhaps doing a fecal transplant, something I didn't know that can be done prior to watching this video. Maybe the fecal transplant won't be needed if the cyclosporine and dexamethasone is working? Instead of diarrhea every 2 hours, he seems to be holding his food in much better now where the frequency is now maybe 3 times a day. His stomach also isn't making really loud pulling and straining noises like it was prior to using cyclosporine and dexamethasone. What a journey this has been. Thank you again for this video, it has left me much more informed of IBD and lymphangectasia and all the possible treatments.
