Delbert wrote so many songs that he can't remember the words to his own song.....funny funny funny. I remember working at the "Iron Gate" in Ft Worh texas with the great Ronnie Mack ( who wrote a ton of Mel Tillis hits) one nite back in 1974... Peggy the waitress came up to me and said there was a guy in the audience who wanted to talk to me. So when the break came she ushered me over to a table with 4 or 5 people., anyway she introduced me to Delbert who was sitting next to Bobby Wayne (Mearle Haggarts rythem guitarist and Tim Hardin (piano player))...anyway Delbert asked me if I wrote a song I sang called "The Fool"....I said no it was written by Sanford CLark who had a big hit with it back in the "50's".....the funny thing is I didn't even know who Delbert was....when I think back now WOW how close I came to this guy and did'nt even know who he was...aww end of story..oh my name Wade Dawson.... you never heard of me either....
