They do have a lot of projects still standing, and they are some large complexes. Nashville is a lot more active than I thought, the hood areas seem more active then Memphis. Nashville definitely has some rough neighborhoods, but Memphis has more of a rougher dirty south edge to it as far as the vibe and the people. They both have that southern accent but it's different. Memphis has more of that old school southern hood accent. I will probably do 1 or 2 more videos here.

Jcuc. Two different ones right across the street from each other. This the south side of town. Probably the worst projects in the city right now. Neighborhood period. Second black neighborhood established in the late 1800s. Jc Napier University courts. The first was on the north side. Right by the old house Johnson. The beginning of Charlotte ave and Capitol Hill was the first black neighborhood in Nashville. Established for freedmen right before the civil war. They got rid of the hood and moved it down to the current area the old jo Johnson at now. Kinda like gentrification only except a 100 years ago. They wanted to make room for the new capital downtown. Those people are getting pushed out and ain't sh*t they can do. Gentrification is a word some people may use, but I'd call this displacement. Because once they push them out, they won't be able to afford rent in those new apartments and condos.

it has been happening everywhere... and rents across the nation are on par with Seattle Washington? I think landlords are doing a racket, hiking rents up so people that can't afford it apply for Section 8. So many people from Nashville try to act like they’re tough or hard when it’s not like that at all, you can share this any other hood. It ain’t the same. Nashville is a relatively safe city there’s no place there. I don’t feel safe and I call every place home.

I was born and raised in Nashville, you should check out the projects by Fisk next time. I went to MLK and have plenty of stories. I left in 2015, came back for a few months last year and don't see myself moving back ever again. It's far too expensive for what it is today. The improvements in the city seem to benefit only a select few good ol' boys along with wealthy people from out of state. It seems like most of the people I grew up with that turned out to be successful have moved on to either Georgia, Texas, or the west coast.

The project wasn't meant for black Americans to live in. It was for the white Americans to live in. If think that I'm lying to you go do your research and find out the truth for yourself.

This is just tour of South Nashville JC Napier Projects and you excluded University Court but did show the surrounding streets around JC Napier. Then at the end is James Cayce S 6th and S7th. Obviously you are a curious person taping the neighborhoods that appear rough and video taped your drive through them. JC Napier is the roughest part of Nashville but if you want to show the roughest part of James Cayce why didn't you drive down South 8th? If you want to understand Nashville hoods listen to Old school Nashville rapper Greenwade "Rolling In Lacs" CD Ghetto Monster and if you can follow the lyrics and recognize the hoods he mentioned you know Nashville and the hoods from all over this city of Nashville TN
