Thank you for making these videos. I’m finally at a place that I’m excited about reaching this level. Im so glad I found your channel and This is one of my favorite songs. One of my favorite songs to sing. It’s also one of my most requested songs to sing. And now soon to be my most requested to play and sing.. I never thought I would ever evolve past the FChord lol. But now I’m finally playing Barr chords up the neck. . I’m an accidental musician. Seems the universe has plans of its own lol You really are a great teacher and I hope the universe is rewarding you well!!!

The way you explain each chord, note, picking pattern, and thinking process is spot on. Someone said below and I'll say it again - not one word in both lesson one and two were wasted. Thank you for sharing your talent and knowledge with the world 😁.

Well it would have been nice if he had just said where his fingers are fretting at 4:29. D7/F# ? Can't see so well anymore. Was enjoying but got lost.

Very good lesson. I admire the way you use your descriptive words precisely. There is no fumbling for string names or finger positioning. I also like how you keep us aware of what actual key we are in without confusing the issue. I am a big fan of your teaching style. Thank you!

Thank you Dave for being so simple in your explanation yet thorough. I am 62 years old and have sung off and on over the years. Our family is comprised of many talented musicians (including our children) and I was told my great great uncle was one of the first jazz groups that was played on WJR radio station The group was called The Apollo Five. Unfortunately, when I was a child my parents took music lessons from me due to poor grades. So now my children are grown and I hope to learn to become an accomplished guitarist! Thank you for sharing your gift!

Thanks so much for this. I have been a high school music teacher for 22 years, but I am a piano, wind, and vocal specialist and have really not embraced my inner string player. (ok, I'll be honest, I was never really able to "get" strings. Perhaps it was because wind, voice and piano came so easily, and I had to actually PRACTICE to get comfortable on strings. :) ) I appreciate your description of what you are playing for us from a theory perspective--for me, it actually speeds up my learning, as I can relate those theory concepts to how I understand them from playing piano. I look forward to performing Landslide using my own, finger picking accompaniement. Thank you so much.

Think tempo about 80 BPM first part ok second part you got to create a fluid change between the chords 2 hammer ons and a pull offs then from D/f# to em that has to flow over 2 bars

One small suggestion is to only mention once keeping the 1st position chord shapes at the 3rd fret. Do it at the beginning, then don’t interrupt the flow after that. But this is an excellent tutorial, with the detail needed to master the piece. Thanks

@NashvilleGuitarGuru2 жыл бұрын
It's tricky because she sings off the beat. Listen to the song for how her phrases line up (or don't) with the alternating thumb. I generally don't sing in these lessons because it triggers the copyright notice.

@davidweingarten8093 жыл бұрын
i love the explanation, but the tab doesn't include the whole song. Where can one get the complete tab start to finish?
@NashvilleGuitarGuru3 жыл бұрын
I'm not a fan of "complete" tab for a song like this, it's too repetitive. Better to learn the parts for each section but be able to work from a chord chart, or at least make that a goal. Same way you'd learn a song you strum, with patterns and repetitions.

Actually, you’re in the key of E-flat, not B-flat. But a good lesson nonetheless!
@NashvilleGuitarGuru4 жыл бұрын
Arguably, yes, but I hear the chorus as the resolution to the 1 chord rather than as a 5. So the verse is: 4 1/3 2m 1/3 and the chorus 1. 5/7. 6m. 6m. 4. 1/3 2m. 5 in the key of Bb. that's how I hear it, anyway...notice that the verse never resolves but just circles.
@DennisAnthonis4 жыл бұрын
@@NashvilleGuitarGuru ... yeah, the resolution doesn’t come until the D7/F# just before the course. The song is in the key of E-flat though; there’s really no arguing it.
@NashvilleGuitarGuru4 жыл бұрын
@@DennisAnthonis except that to my ear, it's the resolution that determines the key. The good news is, we don't have to agree to play it right.
