Before enrolling into the Nutrition program through NASM I looked for videos with reviews and feedback but couldn't find anything so I decided to make one! On this video I give an overview of the course, price, how the final exam is, and my opinion about it!

Hello! Just passed my NASM CNC yesterday. It was information overload and like you i took tons of notes that i didn't have time to look back on. Thank you for posting this as it did help me better to understand the test and tries. As per my experience now, you have one year to do your test( still 3 times), unlimited practice exams and i made a little less than you an 81 B. I do want to know if you ordered any gear from free spirit x nasm? If you did what was your thoughts?

Hi, from your video, it looks like you took the CNC course in 2020. I bought the bundle CPT/Nutrition Coach programs . From my portal they are only giving us a year to complete the nutrition portion. I wish it was two years as I work full-time. I did print the nutrition book through Fedex online. Full color, single pages would have cost over $400, However, I made it black/White, double sided and it was $180. It's helpful for me to have an actual book and I would hate to be on the computer going over 800 pages. And there is still NOTHING online to help with the NASM CNC program. So, by the grace of GOD, once I pass I'll make a video as well. Thank you for this video.

I’m taking the CNC and CPT course. Glad to know it’s open book 😂 Information overload, but it’s very well done. I am such a nervous test taker so I have been redoing all the quizzes. Chapter 5 just took me for a whirl and now today I start 6! Thank you for the video! I see FNS/CPT but no CNC!

It is a loooot of information but you got this! Don't rely on the open book too much though because there's a time limit to take the test. I wrote down the most important things from each chapter and that helped me a lot! Good luck!

@Christopher Lynch yeah! Honestly I didn’t have enough time to go through my notes much but I’m glad I sectioned it the way I did and color coded definitions and what not because those stuck out when I was flipping through and helped double check some answers . I have the sports nutrition exam coming soon and it’s open book as well !

I just started the CNC course myself yeah definitely is a lot of information to and take especially if you never done it before Do you find you're using this course in your field at all and have you come up with a plan?

⁠@@big_dwzI’ve used it within my scope of practice and according to Florida regulations. Not making meal plans of course, advising to speak to doctors, giving general advice No real plan to be honest! I hope the course is going well! I’m pending on which one to take next 😅

It seems they have actually updated the certification since your time taking it. For me the after-chapter quizzes have 15 questions and they have a practice exam now.

I know you said in your video that it is 90 minutes for 100 questions but I am curious if you are allowed to skip questions you don't know and go back to them? Thank you for your help!!

update! I am just about to take my NASM CNC exam so I registered in April this year (2024). You actually only have 365 days/1 year to complete and pass the exam. But otherwise your video was very informative :)

Do this course, go over the different diets and provide nutritional plans for each... such Vegan , plant based, Keto etc

Thanks for the video but the Audio is so faint that I can barely make out your entire review of the course :( But I did subscribe and hope that your other videos that I'll watch will be better sound. yes I am doing everything based on what the client wants. The basic package I am charging $50.

Thank you for your review! I’m trying to sort out the best path to learn more about nutrition and I’m consider NASM CNC or Precision Nutrition level 1. Did you find the textbook material to be dry and difficult to work through at all? One thing I’ve read about the PN level 1 is that it’s well written and not laborious to read. I haven’t been able to find an evaluation of the NASM material and am curious.Thanks again.

Laura Geiger I’m in the same situation myself. I’m leaning more towards the NASM Cnc because it’s a widely well known name and I believe the program is accredited.

Of course. Everything was online but the Ebook was great. I liked the mix in between text and a few videos per chapter. I heard about PN as well and I am sure they are great too! I did enjoy NASM's course it was pretty smooth to go through!

I have a Business Degree from a university, have never taken a serious science class in my life other than a gen ed requirement (and that was chemistry). Also had jobs that had nothing to do with the field. I now have my NAMS CPT and currently going for the Nutrition certification so even though you don't have a science background you can definitely get it, just have to put the time and work in

Yes it is! But I definitely didn't have the time to go through the book, I only looked over a couple things! The test is timed so you have to be careful with that!

Great video, thank you for sharing and being so detailed. Question: if I take this course does it provide a section that speaks on how to change someone's diet in conjunction to their workout progress or If they plateau in their fitness journey? Or will I have to take the personal trainer course and only then will I be able to fully advise a client ?

It talks about plateau a lot and how to do switch things up for your client! I would definitely recommend getting the personal trainer course as well, that's what I am doing right now!

Its a at home course on ur computer. Using ur book or other tools is implied and up to the user. Not like they have someone there to watch u and tell u not to haha

Yes! Just like Roy said below.. there is nothing on the actual course saying that it is open book but there is not a company like ProctorU watching you take the test. Like I mentioned on the video, I didn't really have the time to look into my notes so I made sure I studied a good bit before taking the test!
