Is it just me or it sounded like when the baby monkey started crying there's a pop noise like somebody's shooting at them play it back over and over and looks like a shiny bullet shell bounces off The Rock bronze penny color searching. That is Dana. She wasn't the alpha but she had the youngest baby at the time. Dana was low rank supposedly but these females loved grooming her. DeeDee was higher rank but the females would not groom her. They would also reject offers from her for grooming usually after she fought with one of them.

4:50 that was awesome the way Jesse turned at the last second just as she let go of the branch and broke her fall by landing on Daniela !!! To bad it wasn't another 15 or 20 feet higher Jesse might have hurt her legs but Daniela would have been a pancake flattened out!! DD shaking the tree was great but DD should have just grabbed that one branch while the little screecher was hanging onto the end of it and jumped up and down. She probably could have gotten that branch swinging up and down a good 15 feet or so and Daniela would have gone flying off the thing. If DD timed it just right and really got a snap on the branch on the up stroke OMG how funny would that have been. !!!!!! Daniela would have gone upwards flying into the air like a rag doll and splat into the water. That would have been a priceless video. Jmo

Dana always confused me. Any time DeeDee or whoever was in possession of Daniella, she followed them around, closely, and acted like she really wanted to man her back. Whenever Dana was alone with Daniella, she acted like she never wanted Daniella to even touch her, let alone have her ride on her back or nursing. She acted like she wanted her, when she couldn't have her, and then, when she had her, she acted disgusted and enraged that she was anywhere near her.

Especially as she still had black fur, the stage they are usually killed for mating purposes. This is why Santra killed her because he wanted to mate with Dana. The mothers keep them close to protect them. She was 2 months old still at the stage where she is nursing a lot and wanting that clinging comfort. She turned 2 months the day she died.
