TurboMitsubishi Well in Malaysia its harder to buy one..if you can get one the price is way to high because Mitsubishi have join venture with Malaysian brand "Proton" to built Proton's car base on the existing Lancer/Evo1-3 platform. So Mitsubishi dont sell their sedan models in Malaysia during the 90s to let Proton sales up. But we use the Proton chasis to convert this Evo beast from Japan halfcut which is imported for Malaysian spare and performance parts. Try google for "Proton Wira Evo 3" and youll be amazed to see how we convert a Proton back to a Lancer and Evo's. Not just that in Malaysia we even converts Proton Perdana which is knowns as Mitsubishi Eterna (V6 Twin Turbo). Thanks to Japan for the halfcuts or else there cant be any conversions..lol

I have mixed feelings for my evo 3, it is cool in that its a compact awd lightweight car witha lot of power potential. But on a race track it handles poorly because of lack of front LSD (some have it) and no possibility of wide wheels. It understeers and needs a brake upgrade. Im mostly keeping my Evo 3 for memories and because it was my first performance car. For modifying and potential i will put my money into my S13.

@@Fraggle190 Yeah here in Sweden the old gen evos were mainly used for streetracing. Since it has the 4G63 and pretty bullettproof drivetrain lightweight and awd it was one of the best platforms to start with if youre dragracing on the street. When I went to a trackday I talked to a guy in a Evo 8, and he said he missed his old gen evo because it was so much lighter. With basic mods you can get about 360hp out of the standard turbo and engine on the evo 3, but on the 8 you have to go 420hp+ to even accelerate equal as the less hp old gen. I also think my understeering is due partly to setup, I had 195/50-15s R888 tires and lowering springs only. I think with careful planning and setup with coilovers, anti roll bars and as wide tires as possible that it could handle decent. Cusco had a tarmac centre differential which gave 35/65 drive (rearwheel bias) compared to the 50/50. It was called tarmac spec, it would also help against power understeer.
