What a matched pair are these wonderful examples of not only wonderful movies but also of vocal and instrumental music! The 1939 original Love Affair, and it's remake, An Affair to Remember, are examples of the best movies ever to come out of Hollywood. The original, A Love Affair, starring Irene Dunne and Charles Boyer, was excellent and the accompanying music was very, very, good, it didn't however, have extraordinary quality of it's successor, An Affair to Remember, which was and is still, extraordinary! Everyone who has even the slightest interest in Hollywood movies should have a copy of these lovely examples of the best, in their collection. An extraordinary pair of movies,, A Love Affair with Charles Boyer and Irene Dunne, and the remake, which in most ways, is slightly superior, An Affair to Remember with Deborah Kerr and Cary Grant. I, myself, make it a point to view this pair of movies at least once every few months. My thanks to the makers and actors/actresses, musicians, vocalists and others which brought us such wonderful examples of what movies can be. I do wish that the present movie industry would make more movies of this quality. Movies with the quality of these two, are becoming rare indeed!

Well put my friend. I have both movies in my collection and also watch both quite often too. I am a big Irene Dunne and Charles Boyer fan and so prefer "Love Affair" a little more in some ways. I also like the addition of the song Plaisir d'amour in the movie while they are visiting grandma with of course Irene Dunne singing (or perhaps lip syncing) that song. No matter what they say Cary Grant in any movie makes it a Love affair to remember. Billy Wilder the rest of the cast Audrey Hepburn herself lamented he was unavailable and could not play the part of the older brother in "Sabrina". Just imagine the final scene Sabrina alone on the boat deck feeling alone and dejected.Then she is handed Lionel's hat by the deck attendant looks up and there is, Cary Grant.
