Nat King Cole with Barney Bigard, Teddy Buckner etc: W. C.Handy's "Careless Love"

from the NAT KING COLE tv show - very different from the way that the song is done in the movie ST. LOUIS BLUES and on the attendant Capitol Records album. This is probably the only example I've ever seen of NKC singing in a Hot Jazz / New Orleans / two-beat style.

I used to go to Disneyland ( I lived in Anaheim) specifically just to see Teddy B and his All Stars. Better than any ride attraction in the park. I recall all the performances, except when my friend and I smuggled a bottle of Tanqueray into the magic kingdom.That night was a little fuzzy. But we prevailed. Outstanding performer. R.I.P. Teddy!

Steven Conrad We took our two kids to Disneyland in the 70's and 80's. As a devotee of early-style jazz, I always made sure to stop at the fried chicken restaurant to see and hear Teddy Buckner. Don't remember the names of the other musicians, except for Caughey Roberts on clarinet. Great memories!
