I first heard this song nearly 9 years ago. It touched me deeply and soon after I started buying Natacha Atlas CDs. Blasting the Arabic tracks in your car does get you weird looks in the US tho ;) I tried to learn some Arabic from this song before, but I heard it Natacha sings in an uncommon dialect or something... Anyway, thanks for the sadly still true, haunting, and touching music, Natacha. More socio-political music plz? Why are we fighting?... indeed.

Blast away, compadre! :D I also "blast the Arabic tracks" in the U.S. and I don't care what anyone thinks. :P Natacha Atlas is one of my all-time favorite singers (the top honor of favorite singer goes to the late Ofra Haza, Yemeni Israeli, so...I guess I'm blasting the Jewish tracks, too). Oh, and Azam Ali, who is of Iranian descent. Those three ladies are my favorite middle eastern artists. :)
