Nat King Cole's voice was so unique and had such a beautiful velvet sound to it. Whether you are old enough to remember him (I am) or not you have to be moved by this wonderful tribute to him by his daughter, a great singer in her own right. Very moving no matter how many times you hear it!

Has to be one of my favorite tribute and duet songs of all time. I grew up listening to both of them. Natalie released "This Will Be" in 1975 and was a chart topper back in the day.

My son was about 5 years old when this song came out, and for some reason he loved it. He used to shake his head really fast when he tried to sing it, so he could have a vibrato like Nat King Cole. It was so hilarious to see him do that....

I love Nat's music. While he comes up because of Christmas music many people under forty don't know about Natalie's long career from the early 1970's- the early 2000. In the 50's-60's Nat was one of the most popular singers. He even had his own TV Show for a season. When Natalie was 15 years old and away at school her father died. For years she wanted her own singing style which was more R&B, Funk, and Disco, in the early days. She stays away from her father songs. In the 90's while trying to recover from her addiction to drugs she when head with a tribute album to her father. Nataile died in 2015.

It's really cool how they were able to mix this song together with Natalie singing with her dad. He was such a legend. Love his smooth silky voice. He was an American singer, jazz pianist & actor. He recorded over 100 songs that became hits on the pop charts. He is best known for "Mona Lisa" & "Unforgettable" but he had so many great hits such as "Smile", "(Get Your Kicks on) Route 66", "(I Love You) For Sentimental Reasons", "There! I've Said It Again", "Nature Boy", "Ramblin' Rose", "Those Lazy-Hazy-Crazy Days of Summer" etc.

You hit it right on the head. Raise your daughters to see you as no threat but their guardian to the degree that they would treasure any way to interact with you once you pass. Natalie's voice so smoothly blends with her father. This is such a beautiful video. Little dud Nat know when he recorded "Unforgettable," that his daughter would grow to be a singer and use his sing to help ensure that he was unforgettable.

She developed a career of her own before diving into her dad's iconic music. After he died, she felt she should do this duet before anyone else did it. She had many great hits of her own like This Will Be, Inseparable, and more. She also sang many of her father's hit songs. Sadly we lost her in 2015.

Nat King Cole is such an icon. Donny Osmond does a tribute for Andy Williams where they sing his theme song together. It is just beautiful. Donny’s Vegas show just won “Best of Vegas” award for the 4th year in a row. Andy Williams gave the Osmonds their first big break back in the early 60’s by having them on his show. Donny started on Andy’s show in 1963 at the age of 5. That’s why having Donny do a duet with Andy is such an ironic tribute. You should check it out.

When CDs were first coming on the market, my mom wouldn’t consider buying a CD player until we found out whether or not Nat King Cole’s catalog had been released on CD, lol. And while I was born after his heyday, he is also my favorite singer of all time. So that’s why I clicked on your video. I see Nat King Cole in the title and I’m here for it. 😊 Natalie Cole had success in her own right in the pop music genre. A few of her biggest hits were, This Will Be (for which she won a Grammy), Sophisticated Lady, Pink Cadillac & Miss You Like Crazy. I hope you’ll check her out at some point. 👍👍

Steve Perry’s dad was a “crooner” type singer when Steve was growing up. He sang in various local venues. Steve’s parents divorced when he was around seven. Steve’s dad sent him a cassette tape of him singing to Steve for Christmas one year. Years later, his dad passed away. On 10/07/2024, Steve released a new Christmas album called Season 3. From that old cassette tape, Steve created a duet with himself and his dad. The song is “Call Me Irresponsible”. It’s a beautiful rendition. At the end, Steve’s dad wishes his son a Merry Christmas. You can listen to that song and the entire album here on YT. 🤟

Another father and daughter pairing for you :- Neil Sedaka had a hit with Laughter In The Rain around 1974, a fantastic song. There's a video of him and his daughter Dara singing it in Birmingham in 1991 My favourite video of them though is when she still has braces, as the looks he gives her are so loving - it's on Fab TV and the title on here includes the name Guillermo Gomez Navarrp, which will help locate it

Natalie Cole has a great catalog you should explore, including I’ve Got Love on My Mind, This Will Be, Miss You Like Crazy and Inseparable to name a few. Her album Unforgettable…With Love won her three Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year and Song of the Year for Unforgettable. If you watch her performance at the 1992 Grammy awards, it will really move you. During her career she was Grammy nominated 21 times and 19 Grammy awards.

I'm in my 60's. I grew with Nat King Cole as a staple record , vinyl back then, in our household. I always loved Nat's music. Later, I saw his daughter put out a CD with his songs and bought it. I remember that she got so much flack for that. I want to say that there was an SNL skit that poked fun at her singing songs for dead ppl. I don't care. Her voice is as good as her dad's. I thought the CD was a great tribute and still have it.
