@@javiruiz8365 It's about demand. Medias follow demand. That's why they shove Kim Kardashian down my throat, because lots of people are into hearing about her. Sales of Jersey of the guy Taylor Swift is dating went up because of the following she has. Medias follow popularity. They call people who follow stars on social medias followers, truth is, they are leaders. They lead the brands. Same on social medias, brands will flock to popular account holders to get more people to purchase, but these people have to be interested first! And the account holders have to generate interest.

Portman said in the 2000s, that she sees female actresses who are acting because of the money as "prostitutes". A few years later, she complained that she received only a third of the paycheck her male counterpart received in "No Strings Attatched"....Well....Calling actresses who take roles that don’t appeal to them ‘prostitutes’, throwing an accomplished career artist under the rug so you can look impressive in your little Oscar campaign, and spending years dissing the very fans that made you…is all very much ‘snobbism’, I’m afraid.

The reason why women athletes mostly in Soccer and Basketball leagues make so little compared to their male counterparts is because of popularity and the events don't pull in the same amount of money. Women sports needs time to grow and build a fandom and popularity. Men's leagues have been around forever. It's like trying to create you own video sharing site like youtube, many have tried and may still be around but they cant really compete as a competitor.

They want the same money while bringing in no revenue. Sad
@Smarterthanyew
@Smarterthanyew Ай бұрын
Well it isn't really because they're paid before revenue, so it's rough projection. Pay is also mostly dictated by agents who often don't advocate enough for women. If there is a woman in a film along with a man two leads, how do they decide which of them had drawn more people in. They do the same job and should be paid simarly. Increasing the pay would also increase the prestige, which would draw in better and better people more hype, and more money. They spend less on the advertising and hype and dont talk women's contributions up enough. If they started giving weight and value along with cash to the female counterpart jobs, then they would start making fst more money from it and it would easily begun to justify the increased wages. But noone drums up the excitement for women in the same way. Its always aeen as an afterthought.
@Smarterthanyew
@Smarterthanyew Ай бұрын
Every player or actor is paid individually different wages. They aren't calculated based on the revenue they will individually bring in. They also make as much if not more from endorsements. It isnt as simple as high revenue=higher pay.

Yes, they claimed she did 90% of the dancing which is the main reason she won the Oscar 2011. Sarah Lane ( the real Ballerina in 95% of the scenes) was told to not give any interviews until after the Oscars because of her truthful claims that she did all of the full body shots. The people on the Oscar committee also stated that if they had known beforehand that Natalie didn't do the hard stuff then they would not have voted for her to win the Oscar that year because they based it on her acting talent coupled with her dancing abilities, which she really didn't have. Tell me how that's fair to the ballet world. These professional ballerinas train for years and years where Natalie tried to take credit for training for a year and a half.

I have several years of experience and a college degree just to find out he was being paid more than me. I had at that point at my job 8 years. Same job but since he’s male he gets paid more. I complained and tried going through the proper channels to get paid better. I was pretty much ignored and a female supervisor said it happens everywhere and I should be used to being paid less. I retorted I thought I worked at a reputable company that values both men and women equally. I’m glad Natalie is speaking out. I felt silenced and unheard.

Natalie is all about grievance, an attitude that probably made her ex-husband stray in the marriage to find a woman that could give him the emotional nurturance he is worthy of. Ouch Natalie, the truth hurts.

Millepied is having a reputation as a "User". Someone from the Paris Opera leaked the information years ago, that Millepied is known to have cheated on Portman with a number of company dancers while he was director there (including at least one dancer he promoted). Word was there were pictures in one case, and a payoff was involved to keep them out of the public domain. His behavior was one of the main reasons he was forced out of the job so quickly.

5:55 The women don’t make as much in the World Cup because the women’s World Cup doesn’t make as much money. Full stop. If they drew more and sold more tickets, then they would make more. 🥱🥱🥱 So tired. Next. 🙄

@@surlespasdondine That’s fine, but she doesn’t play. However… more power to her. Is she somehow going to make the games more exciting to watch for new fans? Also, is she going to work on other countries’ willingness to promote women’s soccer more as well? And pay more for it? Good luck. 🤷‍♂️

Tv deal. Merchandise sales. Sry but this is why men get paid those ridiculous numbers. There’s going to be a global return on investment. That said, I’m a of the belief that athletes get paid too much. I’m sorry you’re playing a sport. ‘No reason why you should be getting paid more than a doctor
