Yes, that's what I thought - don't put lids on. Now I go further than that and don't heat up stuff in plastic. Don't know what chemicals can be leaching into your food. Now I pour it from the plastic into glass or ceramic 😇

My dad is a Doctor and gynecologist and he has told us all to never drink tea or anything hot in plastic cups and to also never heat food in plastic Tupperware,plates or any thing plastic related as it can actually leak into your food and that also contributes to getting cancer. Use glass plates or ceramic plates,bowls etc to heat your food. But also microwaving food actually destroys all the nutrients in your food. So yeah we can't win with technology.

Natania, your plastic container was melting because you sealed it shut with the lid so there was nowhere for the steam to go. You’re meant to leave a little gap in your container for your food to ventilate. That’s why you see people poke holes into the top bit of a ready meal before they put it in the microwave or oven.
