Polymer clay millefiore caning is something everyone can learn. Pandora shows you how she uses her small canes and scrap to make mirror and composite pieces, and how she adds charms and bails to her pendants. Lastly she shows you a fun new cane shes been working with and talks about her upcoming partnership with curious.com.

Teresa - I appreciate that you take time to explain why you do what you do. You are the first to discuss about scale and size being important. I had an Aha! Moment when you talked about that. Now I understand why some beads don't look the way I wanted them to - one cane pulled the eye too much because of its size. Thanks!

Hi Teresa...I have enjoyed your tutorials so much, and appreciate being able to come back to You Tube to review them again when I'm learning. I joined Curious.com specifically to follow you and find that only seconds worth of preview are available for free. I thought it sounded to good to be true. The amount of money each month isn't a great deal, but I can't justify the expense as I am on a fixed income. I'm so disappointed. Thank you for all of the tutorials you've shared with us. I do appreciate it very much. Good luck with your new endeavor.

Thank you Pandora, I've been watching your videos all morning and I have learned a tremendous amount of polyclay techniques as a result of your patient and easy to follow insrtructions. I have thoroughly enjoyed all of your videos. As a newcomer to polyclay, I have a myriad of choices of polyclay videos at my disposal from You Tube which I have been perusing for the last week or so. I find that I prefer your videos for many reasons and I'm not sure I can list them all right here and now however, can I just tell you this...and it might sound strange but THANK YOU for not having big fake (distracting) nails on you fingers! OMG thank you.

Launa Banauna Hi, Laura. Thank you for your kind words. Actually, I DO occasionally resort to acrylic nails because my fingers split out at the ends from time to time and the nails help protect them until they heal up. I have them in my hour-plus complex caning vid-the floral one. People DID complain though. Lol!

Free ship, 9.49 for 25 large. I've been adding an extra sheet of clay OVER the bail these days because E6000 and that Hypo jewelry glue give out after a year or so. Not good. Another way to find them is searching for Scrabble Tile bails or dichroic glass . Just thought I'd toss that out there for anyone..I know this post is older.

I absolutley love your video, its really inspiring. I have a little issue when I slice two pieces down the middle then place them flat to rejoin I have trouble getting rid of the line were you reconnect them together if I run my finger down it, it smudges the pattern and if I use the roller you have to roll it quite thinly to try and press the line out. Have you got any helpful tips on this please? I use Premo and Fimo clay.

How do you keep your canes workable, or do you have to soften them first?
@YogiUToo
@YogiUToo 10 жыл бұрын
I've been going through your videos and have learned a lot. Thank you so much for sharing! One question - You speak about composites as being an item you have covered in clay. I wonder if one could paint a styrofoam cup with gesso, and apply cane slices or raw clay tiles to the cup and then bake it? Would the styrofoam melt? Or be strong enough to hold a covering of clay? Have you ever tried to cover an item that was made of styrofoam? I'm just looking to make a pretty travel coffee cup with my clay.
@TeresaPandoraSalgado
@TeresaPandoraSalgado 10 жыл бұрын
Hmmm. I really don't think styrofoam can take 275 degrees. You could cover a glass or metal cup, though. And, of course you'd want to leave the mold in place since polymer is not considered hot food safe. The composites I am referring to in this lesson are complex canes made of simple canes, each wrapped in a thin sheet of color, as opposed to complex canes made of unwrapped canes put together. The bowl shown was made of thick composite cane slices and the mold (a glass bowl) was removed. Often, though, I cover glass bowls with cane slices or design sheets and leave the glass in place. Do some experiments, ok? And send some pix. I'd love to see your creations. If you decide you'd like to take a complete course, I have one on curious.com (polymer claydate with pandora).. just go to the curious.com site and search Pandora-it's easier. It's a 10 video comprehensive caning course for only $19.99 :-) I have lots more free ones coming too. Best wishes. Pandora
