Wow Natasha! Such simple but classy looking cards! Love both ideas, especially the ink blending on the tree stamps. What a gorgeous blend! And the first idea is also great if you’re wanting quick backgrounds. I have the mini distress ink pads, mainly because they’re more compact for storage in those Tim Holtz tins. So maybe I could experiment with those! Thanks so much for your inspiration as always 😊💕

My first set of ink pads were mini cubes. They have lasted years without re-inking. I also buy blank cubes from StampinUp and use re-inkers so I have a small travel set of inks. Love what you do!

Beautiful cards and lots of tips. Thank you. I use my mini ink cubes to make a wood design. I lightly swipe a dry-ish pad across a cardstock panel in stripes. Using several colors helps to make the panel more believable. I have also used my mini cubes as square blotches of color, overlapping some to create a background. The smaller cubes are good to use with small sentiment stamps. Love your swirls!

I love these cards, Natasha! Your videos are always great. You wondered how people use ink cubes. I often buy them so that I can have more colors in a line I love, like Altenew's Fresh Dye Inks and Gina K Design inks. I recently purchased quite a few colors affordably, whereas if I had bought the full sizes, it would have cost me more than I wanted to pay. I love all the colors!

Hello from HOT southern California, USA. I used to get the monthly kit from Stampin Up, where I got a different ink cube each time. I make many cards without greetings, or maybe just no inside greeting, until I need them. I use the small ink cubes to get out quickly to add an inside sentiment/greeting.

the monthly kits from simon are not bad to replace stampin up kits. They come with a variety of products.

If you see this post- I meant to ask you also- did you use regular cardstock in this video, or watercolor?? You may have said- and I missed it. I just wondered if- for the swiping in particular- which you would recommend to work best. Thanks!!

About 20 years ago I purchased a numerous assortment of Palette Hybrid ink pads. Used them sparingly then forgot all about them. Today I tried your trick but obviously very dried out. Used Distress Mica Spray over top and voila! Beautiful background.

brilliant ideas and with boing a stack to grab. great idea for mens cards. Always tricky. Re the ideas of ink blocks. I use some off cuts and choose 3 colours and totaly cover sheet with the ins . Pail colours best. Almost sunset look. messy is best. I then use these for my die cutter. Shapes and names come out multy coloured. Centiments on plain white paper with chosen ink coulor round edge. Easy peesy. I have few A4 sheets i grab as i can cut many out this way and none will look the same. Flowers look great too. many thanks.. C form Hereford

I have quite a lot of Simon inks. They stamp nicely, but they lose juiciness quite fast. They have an amazing range of colours, though. I would advise that if people buy them, refills are a must-whereas with other companies, you will get away with refills for just your favourites. I also like the stamps from Simon, they have a lot of large and useful stamp sets with a good variety of sentiments.
@harriettezmalloy7182Ай бұрын
Fantastic cards!! I really like the swipes of color. And great tip to add ink on the sentiment strip. I normally ink blend just right on the edges of the strip. But a stipe of color is beautiful.

I never remember that I have any, or what colors I have! But I AM certain that they will need refreshing if I am going to do the swiping! What a fun way to play with color and get a creative background! (I just finished a card that started with my granddaughter and I playing with shaving cream and liquid watercolors to make prints. We had a great day that day, and I believe this is the last one from the stash. All for a good cause, as we have a long term house guest who’s birthday is a week from today!

I actually did have an incident where my mint tape tore my paper. I taped some damp paper on to a 3d embossing folder. After running it through the tape was damp. I was not being very careful and so there was a small rip. I was amazed. I will put a sentiment over it and remember this in the future.
