Mr. Biryani man, I disagree with you talking about how the dalit female character feels shame about her background. I feel it is good writing, that the character still feels shame about herself though she is trying to shake it off. It is much more real. People want to be validated by other people around them whether they like them or not. It's not about pride. It's about taking responsibility. It's about accepting oneself and represent the community and roots they came from... In that movie, she just disowns and detach from the community she came from and acts privileged. It's a shame not to represent and not try to empower the roots they all came from...
