Natchez Elementary School's Annual Powwow, and Education through Culture and Identity

The Annual Powwow at Natchez Elementary brings together the community for dancing, drumming and pageantry. From the perspective of the teachers, it is one piece of their larger curriculum centered on culture and identity, which leads to student pride and success in the classroom, and beyond! The school has also been awarded a $1.2 million federal grant to support native language and culture studies, opening up new possibilities!
