Nate has a point. Dana doesn’t pay fighter as much as the best boxers, but he pays 700 different fighters, more than any other promoter. He also gives the most fight bonuses then any other organization.

He was literally complaining about his 20 + 20 deal for nearly a year before he fought Michael Johnson. He almost retired until his after fight interview with Joe Rogan. He already had 20 fights in the UFC at that time and one of the lowest paid fighters. Overeem, who was 3-3 at that same fight card, was already getting paid $500k. Nate couldn’t even afford to go to camp and was teaching kids Jiu Jitsu to get by. Check your sources.

@@kc006 The information is out there if you actually look at it. Prelim fighters get paid 5 to 10 times more in the UFC compared to in boxing. But the main event fighters in boxing can make 10 times more than the main event fighters in the UFC. So Nate is right. In boxing, the top players make a ton of money, but everyone under them make peanuts. In the UFC, the money is distributed through the whole card more generously. So the top players don't make as much, but the guys under them aren't getting crumbs either. Unranked UFC fighters no one knows of make more money than Floyd Mayweather did in his early days. The actual issue with the UFC is how much of the revenue goes to the fighters versus the company (a company that is a proper business with hundreds of employee salaries, business expenses, and investment shares).

There wasn’t any money in mma fighting until Dana and Fertitta Brothers took over. They created an industry and way for all these guys to make money doing what they love. As long as they pay a little above market value of all the competitors. They’ll still win because they’re still the highest bidders. If you're a UFC fighter you can go to their PI's every single day and get free training, free recovery help and free food. That alone if used properly is worth thousands of dollars each month. Its probably about $500 a day in total value if you use it all... and as a UFC contracted fighter you can. So when you add that up, its massive and its direct savings in your pocket as a fighter.
