Nate believes in himself and convinces a wave of fans every time he steps in the octagon, has a mic, camera or anyone in front of him. He speaks the truth. He and Nick changed the game through the years even with them having trouble expressing themselves at times. Nates fan base was smaller when he started, talked a big game that many disliked, but true MMA fans knew his mentality was just like his brother, Nicks. A real one. They've never changed and not many can say that. Nate has surprised many and win or lose Saturday, Nate comes out a champ. Everyone will remember Nate 15 years from now when most will be forgotten.

I'm a real MMA fan and I find his entire schtick to be boring, uninteresting and can't wait for him to get smooshed and go away. I can already predict the press conference. 'Boo hoo he tried to wrestle me. He's not a real fighter. The UFC didn't pay me enough and the contract was all messed up.' Every day that goes by the prospect of if gets bigger. I've never seen a fight like this where I just can't imagine any way one guy has a shot of winning and somehow you hope he does. This is a rare event. It's a one of a kind. I think Nate knows it. This is the biggest way he could get the world's attention. I agree that it's an honorable thing for Nate to request. But I also believe that he knows the chances of all 10 being accepted by the UFC without going through Contender Series or TUF are actually pretty slim. Right now, the UFC is the top dog and there are fighters from all over the world trying to get a chance to compete for a spot on the roster. So, Dana can afford to pick and choose who he wants to sign and, though Nate has had some great matches and made the company plenty of money, I doubt Dana will respond well to an ultimatum of this kind. I can see Dana getting these fighters matches on the remaining season of the Contender Series but I don't see him just signing them all carte blanche.

I played pool going up and into my 20s when I got married and settled down (80's & 90's). Often a couple of us from town would go to other towns to play. Back then I learned some guys would have your back and some would hit the door when things went south. The Diaz brothers are the guys that would have your back, if they were with you they wouldn't leave you. That's why I've always been a fan of the Diaz brother, Cowboy is another UFC fighter that some to mind. This story isn't surprising, it's who he is and why we love him.

UFC already did this for both Conor and Nate as part of their contract negotiations. Nobody remember Nate getting his bro Chris Avila a shot? He quickly went 0-2 and got cut. Conor getting a bunch of SBG guys Artem Lobov, John Phillips, Charlie Ward in, none of whom were good enough and got smashed, apart from the GOAT Lord Artem.
