Whew, Nate Morton is the reason you watch The Voice if you are in any way a musician. What fabulous technique.
@mehdiful99297 жыл бұрын
This is the reason why I think not only Nate, but the whole band is the world's best. This band can fit in any genre whatsoever. You name it, we'll play it. One of your interview I remember you said that you're not one of those drummers that categorize themselves as a Rock drummer or Jazz drummer and so on. But you rather you wanna a be A DRUMMER. I get it now! Keep them coming please.

Wow.... yes... thank you so much... It's true,.. I definitely aim towards removing musical genres... SO flattered that you noticed... Ya know... Duke Ellington said, there's only TWO kinds of music.... GOOD and BAD... :)

Nate Morton men not only do I love your style of play but more importantly the tone of your drums. Whether it's the big pearl kit you use on the voice or this one . Your drums sing men, it's like they have a voice of their own. Especially that 3 piece pearl kit you used on the voice live performance when Amanda brown sang "someone like you". Would love to tune my drums the way you do. Love it men
@NateMortonDrums7 жыл бұрын
aww man.. thank you so much for the kind words... and yes... I'm stoked to play Pearl drums and I really do think they're the best thing on the market! (sorry for the plug... lol)... My drum tech Steevo does an AMAZING job of maintaining all the kits on the show and making sure they always look and sound there best! :)

So glad the drum cam is back! I love to listen to your groove. Then watch it for sticking etc. Then the fun. Play along and steal as many licks as my old dog hands can. I have already stolen the foot - hand - hand slowed, or sped, up and phrased as duple. You are right up there with the best in my book. Thanks for sharing so freely!

lol... stop it you... "bad drummers"... lol... I do post them because when I was studying and practicing and would've seen a show like The Voice... if I heard the drummer playing in the shadows, I definitely would've wondered, "What's going on in the shadows?" So that's why I put these up... "access"... It is my pleasure and privilege to share access to what's going on in the shadows...

Nate I am very impressed with your drumming. I have been playing drums for about 3 years. What advice would you give a person wanting to become a drummer?

Hmm... advice... listen to as much music as you possibly can, familiarize yourself with a variety of styles and play in as many situations with as many different musicians as you can! Good luck with everything!

Nate Morton definitely man, your professionalism is top notch. I remember seeing you on Rock Star: INSX back when I first started playing drums and then was pumped to see you playing drums for the voice. Random question...how many kits do you have on rotation on the voice? And how long does sound check take? You must have a hundred drum mics hooked up on a thousand channel board. Lol
@JETX19907 жыл бұрын
Nate Morton p.s, you just killed it on Jesse Larson's track. So awesome to watch haha. Loved it.
@NateMortonDrums7 жыл бұрын
THANK YOU! :)
@NateMortonDrums7 жыл бұрын
Hmm... answering in reverse... there's not really a "sound check" so to speak... we have a dress rehearsal where we run down the show's performances... re: how many kits... hmmm... hard to say, but I think the most we've ever had rocking in any given week is,.. maybe 10? Steevo does an amazing job of keeping them looking and sounding great!
