What a wonderful surprise to see the great CHarlie Hunter still doing his thing. I was jamming "Desert Way" with/ Kurt Elling the other day along with "Creole" w Mos Def. Keep doing your thing , man. :)

Yep! I'm not going to find Charlie Hunter on the local corporate meganetwork. And I when I Googled "7-string guitar," I got into Charlie. The 7-string jazz community is small; the "7-string jazz community that also plays drums" is possibly just Charlie!

Man, you think you know just how good Charlie is, but then stuff like this comes out and you realise he's FAR better than you thought he was. I'll never wrap my head around being able to improvise both a bassline and melody with that much feel and thought.

Bruh, whole time, I thought there was a bass player in the background. Charlie sounded like two separate instruments. This man has the independence DRUMMERS dream of!!!!

Hey Nate, I’m from Detroit. My son took me to see you, Kiefer, & Cartoons at the City Winery in Chicago for my birthday. Great show!!! I just wanted to say “Thank You” for a great interview with Charlie. He’s my most intriguing guitarist and you asked some great questions that helped me understand him better as a musician. Keep up the awesome work Bro 👍🏾

i don't know who'll read this, but I really needed to hear the part where Charlie reminds us that we go through those "gigless" streaks.
