I've been lent one of these to evaluate it. My first thoughts are that it is much more reliable at picking up shots than I'm used to seeing. Makes me wonder why we put up with standard chrony technology. Even the FX chrony is known to be sketchy at times. None of the limitations with regard to SD and ES would bother me, as I know how to use spreadsheets, and it allows me to do more with the data potentially. However I do frequently test something known as velocity retention factor, which is basically a simple version of BC. That requires testing velocity at a distance and at the muzzle. I can do this with a traditional chrony but it's risky, and with the FX I believe it's not possible either. That only leaves the costly LAB radar units, which give amazing data but not really worth the cost for me. The fact this is reliable, affordable, barrel mounted and isn't dependent on lighting conditions makes it quite interesting to me. I can for example use it indoors into a pellet catcher whilst tuning, at night and not get neighbour problems. I think it's a clever little unit. Regards from NZ.

Looks sweet. Mate I couldn't make a spreadsheet to save my life. I'm in QLD I see that heat could be an issue. Do you know what temp is its cut off for readings? Could you print a white one to reduce the heat absorption Sorry I know it's only new on the market and you probably don't have all the answers yet. I will be buying one when I have the spare $$ for sure. The fx one is giving me the proper shits

@@stuarthey3728 She'll be right! The ratings of the components state "its good to operate at up to 85deg celsius". So temp wont be an issue unless you leave it on your dash in the heat & start using it straight away. The body will be ok up to about 95ish deg. In general - LEDs dont like heat, I run them conservatively too. I put that temp warning on to make sure customers get the absolutely best lifespan they can out of it.

So it's not usable with silencers on the air guns and not usable with shrouded Barrels without thread Barrels? 🤔

@@WaschyNumber1 it absolutely is - we have "variable adapters" for non threaded & moderators, and a heap of "custom adapters" for anything odd shaped (underlevers, sights etc). if i dont have an adapter for your model - reach out

Every NateChrony is live shot calibrated against our Certified master chronographs & is within 1fps @ 1,000fps. From what Ive read its the most accurate Chronograph on the market. Check the specs on the others - hint: fx doesnt publish any accuracy specs

@ good to know as I’ve just bought one AAR on air didn’t do you any favours in his recent review , said he had to calibrate it.. but personally don’t trust him as he won’t admit to being financially involved with vector air

@@Airgunfunrich its also on me - better marketing, better product info required my end. new software version says it clearly. i spend all my time on the product ;) the packaging - 100% recyclable dur to german packaging laws! no frills as its just getting binned lol

Only problem I see is it has to be connected via a cable. others are cabless. Much more user freindly imo

Creeps - yes it was a trade-off. Batteries mean extra weight, charging circuits, shipping issues (lithium) & a considerable bump in component cost $. We wanted simple, light & affordable - there's a mini version around the corner for Olympic target pistols. Weight is really critical - especially to not interfere with barrel harmonics. HOWEVER... last week we have started working with a partner to produce an add-on battery option - so you can replace the cover with a small battery that will last 1-2 hours :)
